Here's the latest map for the Atlas Elyden, and one I've been wanting to make for some time - giving some information on the river-system known as the Ahrisheni Waterways as well as the engineer-warriors who maintain it and keep it safe.

Atlas Elyden #105 - Countries

Here's the latest map of the Atlas Elyden, and this time It's another thematic map, showing country borders and giving some filler info.

I'm in the process of creating more thematic maps for the Atlas, which is getting ever closer to completion. I may not be done by the end of the year as I had been hoping, but it is becoming a tangible goal. The index is complete, and the number of maps needed to 'finish' it off are decreasing.

Animal Fact Box - Anther

Another skeletal drawing! 

This is the Anther - the tallest therops (mammal) in Elyden (at least at the time of writing this. I may find something larger during my explorations of the world).

Intended as a cross between a brachiosaur and a giraffe, this is one I've wanted to make for a while now. I imagine it in the entourage of royalty, covered in caparisons and howdahs, with diplomats and heralds mounted on their backs.

Here is the fact box for the main Parthisan Colonies, for the next map I will be publishing, next week of Thetishi States, located to the west of the Inner Sea.

Animal Fact Box - Amaurid Elk

So, it's been a while since I've shared one of these! This one has been on the back-burner for some time (about 2 years actually...) so I thought I'd finish it off. It's still a bit rough, but given the size that it will be in the encyclopaedia, the image will do for now. 

For anyone interested, the animal is a cross between a hadrosaur and a deer, though is technically a 'mammal' despite the body shape and tail.

Worldbuilding Tips

Most of my followers are worldbuilders of some form or another - be they cartographers, DMs, or writers. I often get asked similar questions about mapmaking or worldbuilding in general.

Though I think there are people much better qualified to answer these questions than myself, I thought I'd try to put something down with which I can answer people asking for MY opinion on things, which I realise may differ from what other worldbuilders may think.

the Encyclopaedia Elyden

Finally, I feel ready to post the long-awaited Encyclopaedia Elyden, so you can now look up any map feature, city or lore detail that I mention, with ease!


This has been a real labour of love, and I've spent the last few months working on the formatting, spelling, and making sure the links in the near-700 page document all work the way they should. EDIT: The October 2024 update is live, with loads of new entries, including information for all the states of the Ammashi Peninsula in the south west of Sammaea, as well as the states in the north east of Llachatul (Tisara, Anbattur, Loegress, Calbia, and Kommea). This edit sees the encyclopaedia reach a new milestone - over 1,410,000 words! (not that that's really a goal).

I's been a while since I've asked this and a lot of patrons have come and gone since the last time, so I thought I'd what you use my maps for, if anything?

I know a lot of my patrons are GMs who use their maps in games, or some might be writers who use the maps as settings for their stories.
