Thank you to Marine Corporal Emily Hazelbaker and the Public Affairs Office of the Marine Corp for this production. I think Emily will be a great film maker in the future. This production showcases her talent, editorial pacing and use of film speed to bring out most of a shot. As video producer and editor, I am very impressed with the technical assembly of this piece.

Someone put a Styx Anti Ship missile on a RIB

Not all ideas are good ideas and this Wile E. Coyote setup didn't work either. Basically this thing capsized the first time it took a turn or took a wave (or got wet).

It was found off the coast of Romania. It's an American small boat also called a RIB. We shipped a lot of these to Ukraine over the past two years. The old Soviet era Styx missile was placed on a small frame forward of the conn.

The reason why this didn't work is ships/boats and sub have a center of gravity and cen...

This is a paper I produced for a client to assist them in finding Russia's submarines in the Black Sea a few years ago.

Very Sorry for Video Playback Issues...

Years ago, I switched to Vimeo video hosting service to solve video playback problems and it worked. Now, Patreon is having issues integrating with Vimeo because they are selling their own hosting service to Patreon channels like this one.

I am looking for a solution. If the most recent video does not play on your mobile device, please consider moving your subscription to YouTube Members ($5/Month) to get the same Sub Brief videos the same day.

CSG-2 Defeats USV Swarm Attack in the Red Sea

Taking a page out of the Russia-Ukraine war, Houthi forces conducted an Unmanned Surface Vessel attack on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group. No details of the action public at this time, but it is good to know that US Navy processes, equipment and training are working to thwart this new 'drone' threat at sea.

Russia is struggling to adapt to the new threat and losing its Black Sea fleet in the process.

Rear Admiral Marc Miguez also confirmed that US forces were abl...

Tsar Kunikov sunk by Ukraine USVs today

Tsar Kunikov 158 Ropucha class LSTM for the Russian Navy served in the Black Sea fleet. Used primarily as a logistical support vessel for Russia's Syrian deployment and later the Ukraine war.

Seems like the AK-630 close in weapon system does not have the gun depression to attack these USVs at the range they are detected. The Russian crew used small arms fire to disable at least one USV drone, but the others hit causing the vessel to capsize and sink.
