USS Porter Found Divers Lost at Sea Near North Carolina

...still can't find a submarine though.

Great Job! To the Officers and Crew of the USS Porter who found civilian divers who were reported missing for 14 hours. The USS Porter did this while participating in one of the US Navy's most complex wargame simulation at sea. Amazing job to stress the crew with drills, and casualties and also conduct a search and rescue. Outstanding, so proud of this ship and US Navy today.

M1A2 Abrams fires a 120mm Sabot

My first love was US Armor. When I went the recruiter in 1989, my first stop was at the Army office, ASVAB in hand. The Army recruiter could not 'guarantee' Armor training, that's not how the US Army works.

The US Navy, in 1989, could guarantee I would begin Submarine School as long as I passed the Psychology exam (they only take crazy people on subs).

And that's how I ended up on subs instead of in the Army.

SOF Mobile Support Base Arrives in the Gulf of Oman

Special Operations Forces support base USS Lewis B. Puller arrives in the Gulf of Oman. The USS Paul Hamilton DDG and USCGC Emlen Tunnell are accompanying. The USCGC has legal authority at sea that the military does not.

Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 26 are deployed with this detachment.

These forces arrived just days ahead of the ~3000 service members transiting the Red Sea with the USS Bataan.

This is the most significant reinforcement of the region since 2020.

USS Bataan LHD-5 transits the Suez Canal

USS Bataan is in route to the Arabian Gulf just outside the Strait of Hormuz. The sailors and marines are drilling their asses off right now. This is very concerning to me.

I am watching this very closely. This is the flashpoint no one is talking about. The White House is very interested in a demonstration of force against Iran in the Strait of Hormuz. I believe this will go hot during the Presidential election year, the Americans will cheer the victory and a President gets reelected. View Post

20-man Teams Train for Boarding Ships

My contacts (active duty officers) in the U.S. Navy has confirmed the Navy is combining Marine Corp squads with U.S. Sailors into 20-man Teams.

These teams are training on board a Wasp-class LHD ship, very likely the USS Bataan LHD-5.

These teams are already in the Persian Gulf/Indian Ocean theatre and will be providing security for ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

This is a multi-domain operation with F-35s providing sensor coordination from drones. F-16s will p...
