I'm back / plans moving forward

I'm back from my short break visiting with family. During the week break I have done some thinking about how I usually go about work. I usually just throw myself in front of a computer screen and wait until an idea comes to me. If it doesn't come to me quickly, I start getting distracted by Twitter and YouTube.

So the first thing I'm going to work on is sketching in a sketchbook far more often. If I sketch out tons of ideas first, then I can come to the computer and render them all nice...

I'm taking a break

Tomorrow, I am going home to visit my family for a week. I feel like this will be a good time to bring some introspection to my life.

I've been struggling with what I want to do for a long time now. I'm not completely happy just drawing random stuff all the time. I want to have some kind of bigger project to work towards. Some kind of series to call my own, whether it's a comic strip series, or maybe start working on a cartoon, or something.

Plans moving forward

I'm wanting to work on more projects, but I have issues when it comes to coming up with ideas for them. I'd like to make more animations and comics but it takes me a while to get good ideas for them.

That being said, the plans moving forward for this Patreon and my artwork in general will change priorities a little bit. I plan on getting better at pulling ideas out of this junk drawer I call my brain. This will require a lot of practice in writing and creative processes in my free time....

Tulip Doodle

I say "doodle" because I did this in under an hour. I take a long amount of time working on the sketch, making sure the lineart is perfect, getting the shading right, etc. I wanted to see what it would look like if I didn't second guess myself so much drawing.

I think it turned out a better than I thought it would. A bit messier and not as detailed, but nice and simple.

Update on Patreon

So I've seen people leaving because Patreon is missing some content they expected. I will state that I have gone through and cleaned up Patreon a little bit, removing a lot of old things.

One reason is because these images have been published to the public and are no longer "early access" content.

Evelyn stylized

Experimenting with my older lineart style. I noticed that I have been drawing my lines thinner and thinner recently, but looking back at my older stuff made me realize I really like the look of the thicker darker lines. I think I found a good middle ground between the two.
