Itch game portal problems and solutions

If you follow the news, you are aware that on July 24, the gaming portal Itch removed more than 20,000 games and de-indexed all adult games.

This is a big problem for me as a developer because Itch brought in a lot of traffic. Maybe you even found my game on Itch.

I don't think this will end, and other major platforms for game developers may follow suit. It's despicable, it's bad. But I have a solution to this problem.

I will have to make a completely SWF version of the game Lust Hunter without adult content for public access. It will be called Lust Hunter SWF.

But with one special feature. The game will have a button to update to the NSFW version of the game with all current content, using my servers and online updates. To protect against accidental updates, I will use a special code that will need to be entered in the game.

This will allow my game Lust Hunter to be listed on the Itch portal without breaking their rules.

This will not affect the current version of the game for patrons. It will be released in the same way as before. But I will need your help. Since this will be a new game for Itch, I would like to ask you to be active and leave comments about the game when it is released. This will be a great help to me.

Lust Hunter 0.122.0

By the way, the next version of Lust Hunter 0.122.0 will be released on August 15-17. In it, I plan to improve combat performance and rewrite the game code for maximum performance, just as I did with real-time movement on the global map. In addition, I will try to fix the few bugs that still remain in the game.

This will be the final fix for the game's performance issues, after which, starting in September, I will be releasing updates with a lot of new content. I will add new quests, new events with NPCs, new animations, and a new location.

Announcement Hunter 5 tier new feature

Now this level of support will be available to other game developers.

Previously, Hunter 5 tier was not a particularly popular subscription level. This was because I couldn't offer any really cool features for it. And the price was too high. So I decided to make Hunter 5 tier a level for game developers like me who need help. In the near future, I will release 3 assets for the Renpy engine that will allow you to implement the same functionality as in my game Lust Hunter.

1. Real-time character movement asset

3. A universal system for changing a character's clothes asset

These will be separate modules written in Python that you can add to your game. They will be available by subscription or sold separately using the Patreon pay-per-post feature. They will also be available on Itch.

New update. I've added a lot of new content for Guy. All clothes available for male are now available for Guy. That's over 280 clothing items. I had to redo and improve the code that displays the images of the clothes. I think in the next few updates I will do the same for female and futa clothes combining the same clothes into one. This is an important step that will allow me to make combining clothes into an outfit with the addition of bonus relics. 16 new animations for guy on male enemy and guy on female. Check out the new June bonus costumes. By the way I added hairstyle to the sorting of clothes in your closet now you decide when your hairstyle is visible. This allows for more fine-tuning of the character. I also added a new Chen costume to the clothing store. And fixed a lot of bugs.

Added manual authorization. If everything works for you you don't need it. If you had problems with authorization in game, use manual authorization and then tell me the code you got in DM here or in discord.

This update was supposed to be released on July 15th, but I'm releasing it early. I fixed a lot of bugs that were breaking the game and preventing normal play. This is the biggest bug fixing update I have ever released. By the way, I have increased the performance when moving around the global map. Now all movements are as smooth as possible. And to increase performance on android even more, you can disable all options in Preferences under Optimization.

Home wardrobe improvements. New filters by clothing slots and by relicts. It's very convenient, now you can find the clothes you need faster. Later I plan to add sorting by relics. So you can immediately see the clothes with the best relics.

I added autocomplete quests when you are on the global map. Now you don't have to manually complete a quest. The quest will complete itself, it's very convenient.

I haven't been writing posts or responding much over the past few weeks. I want to apologize for that, but I have some health issues that I will be dealing with until mid-August. It's pretty exhausting and is disrupting my work balance. I hope it ends soon and I can work normally.

Big perfomance update

I was negative about the advent of neural networks and avoided them for a long time. But I decided to try writing code in ChatGPT and it was terrifying. Lots of bugs, broken functions and a lot of iterations before reaching the goal. BUT. ChatGPT offered me a great option to optimize the code in moving around the map. I finalized it manually and integrated it into the game. It's great, I was able to increase the performance in moving around the map by 3-4 times. Now moving around the map is absolutely smooth. It works on android, performance has increased 2-3 times.

But there is one issue. If your bag inventory is open and there are a lot of items in it, the performance drops by 2 times. So please avoid open bag inventory until I optimized it.

I have added 2 new options. If you have problems on android then turn them off.

Autocompletion of quests:

It took me a long time to figure out what the problem was, but one of the reasons for the freezes was the quest list. That's why the freezes accumulated during the game.

I noticed that the quest list slows down the interface a lot. So I decided to optimize it. The first step will be to autocomplete quests so that you don't have to manually click COMPLETED. Now if you have fulfilled all the conditions of the quest, you will automatically see a window about the completion of the quest and the rewards received.

New home wardore UI and cloth filters:

I should have done a long time ago but was only able to do it now. I remade and added 3 separate kinds of filters for clothing. They are a filter by gender a filter by clothing type and a filter by relics.

New icons to display clothing slots.

How it works. You are a filter, a separate window opens in which different filters are available. When you select a gender or a clothing slot, the relics are filtered according to the available ones.

I made it as convenient as possible. Now you can easily choose clothes by slot or by relict.

What else:

I added some animations for GUY and for FEMALE/FUTA/REALFUTA. I will also add new bonus clothes .

Lots of bug fixes in 0.121.0. If you told me about a bug and I didn't answer you, I probably fixed it too.

Oh that was probably the most non-obvious and time-consuming mistake I've ever made. How it was supposed to work: you get 2 keys, combine them in your inventory or home chest, then go and open the door.

How it worked in reality: players would give this key to other NPCs as a gift, it would deactivate and not work.

What now: You can gift part of the key and do whatever you want with it in general. I added a separate option to get a whole part of the mysterious cave key for each merchant, as well as finalized ALL key quests. With the statue in the cave maze, with frozen slime and keys in the jungle.

Well, most people aren't interested. So all female/futa clothing will not be available for guy. But since 27% are interested, I can make 5 female costumes for GUY. If you have suggestions for female costumes you would like for GUY, I'm open to suggestions.

I wanted to write here about future plans about optimization and new content but I've been writing this post for 4 days so I decided to do it a little later in a separate post.

A few months ago I created a poll link about adding 2021 bonus clothing to the general clothing store. I did this starting with version 0.118.0 the clothing is available in the store. You can create it using materials found in locations on the global map.

I've improved the clothing store. The number of slots per page has been reduced so that more information is available. I added new sorting by price availability and by value of selected relicts. As well as a filter by relicts. I so made patron only clothing available to everyone. Now truly unique clothing is only available in the Church of patron only.

I have improved the reward screen now more information is displayed for clothing. I have speed up the display of this screen.

You can find a new NPC at the Village wall location in area BL02 near the entrance to the Mysterious Cave. You will see a cart in the water. After the conversation, this NPC will appear in the square in the village.

New update. I've added a lot of new content for Guy. All clothes available for male are now available for Guy. That's over 280 clothing items. I had to redo and improve the code that displays the images of the clothes. I think in the next few updates I will do the same for female and futa clothes combining the same clothes into one. This is an important step that will allow me to make combining clothes into an outfit with the addition of bonus relics. 16 new animations for guy on male enemy and guy on female. Check out the new June bonus costumes. By the way I added hairstyle to the sorting of clothes in your closet now you decide when your hairstyle is visible. This allows for more fine-tuning of the character. I also added a new Chen costume to the clothing store. And fixed a lot of bugs.

Added manual authorization. If everything works for you you don't need it. If you had problems with authorization in game, use manual authorization and then tell me the code you got in DM here or in discord.

When I promised long ago to improve the user interface, and now that moment has come. I made the first of several planned improvements. Now information about the game character will be available in a separate menu-book. Later I will add monster information, combo list and much more. This will be a universal access to many features in the game. So I started to redesign the navigation interface, in this update I improved it, now you can see what items are in the point gathering. Then I will merge the character menu and the navigation and quests menu, and make quests self-completing.

A few months ago I created a poll link about adding 2021 bonus clothing to the general clothing store. I did this starting with version 0.118.0 the clothing is available in the store. You can create it using materials found in locations on the global map.

I've improved the clothing store. The number of slots per page has been reduced so that more information is available. I added new sorting by price availability and by value of selected relicts. As well as a filter by relicts. I so made patron only clothing available to everyone. Now truly unique clothing is only available in the Church of patron only.

I have improved the reward screen now more information is displayed for clothing. I have speed up the display of this screen.

You can find a new NPC at the Village wall location in area BL02 near the entrance to the Mysterious Cave. You will see a cart in the water. After the conversation, this NPC will appear in the square in the village.

First of all thank you for your support. Thanks to you this project exists and I am very glad that you like it. In this update I have added a new playable character Guy. So far only on futa or female. But in the next update I will add content on male. I have done a lot of work and I hope you like the result. I have added dozens of high quality animations for Guy. And made many other cool changes.

By the way, I added a new animation for Collector. You need to bring all the flask with white viscous liquid and you'll get the reward! Enjoy and let me know what you think about it.

[News] About next update 0.119.0. New playable character, new animations bugfixes and more

Earlier this year, I created a poll about a new male playable character. I want to congratulate everyone who has been waiting for a long time the new male character will appear in the next update Lust Hunter 0.119.0 from May 31.

New playable character:

The new playable character is called Guy and will be available both when starting a new game and when changing gender in Church of Patrons. He will be available to all enemies of any gender. But due to the large amount of content, some NPC events, working in a brothel and some other events or animations will not be available in version 0.119.0. These are currently in development plans and I will definitely add them later.

By the way, while I was adding the new character I found and fixed many different small bugs. I changed the structure of the game a bit and found many places that can be improved in the future.

I looked at the old animations for enemies, which I added more than 4 years ago and realized that their quality is much worse than my current level of animation quality. So I decided to make for Guy only high quality animations of Desert or Jungle or The Castle level. Just look at them:

Only one animation will be available for each enemy for now. But I will increase this number in each update.

Other improvements:

I started checking how passable the quests are with the new character and some of them are not obvious. This was confirmed by a huge number of questions on different sites and in my discord. Well, until I made global navigation (it's in the plans, I've already figured out how to realize it but I need time) I added more description to some quests.

For example, in the quest on the tracks of Orc now each trail will be marked as passed.

Or the frozen slime quest. Now you can see how many enemies you have to fight to get the frozen key.

I also reduced the amount of randomness and made the gathering more predictable. Now Lust herb grows on a separate red bush, and the number of items displayed is exactly the same as the number of items in the gathering point

Now the orc will not appear in this place again (in place of the red cross)

This guide will be a complete walkthrough of the level, finding the 3 figures, statues all the keys and opening the final door.

I have shown the shortest path to get through The Castle. To unlock all the locked doors you need to open them from the other side. To complete the quest with the ballerina statue explore all parts of the statue.

I use several file sharing sites to provide access to new versions of the game. I usually use Google Disk, Mega and Pixeldrain. Maybe some of these file sharing sites are in high demand or some work better. I'd like to know your opinion. By the way, if you have a good stable version of a file-sharing service, write its name in the comments.

The last Lust Hunter Stories update was released almost six months ago. That was a long time ago, and I'm sure many people have forgotten this game existed. So I've decided to release a new update and add new homemade bed animations.

So what's new 0.0.4:

• New ability to invite NPCs to your bed, after the story.

• Over 50 new animations

• New animations counter

• Improve UI

Lust Hunter Stories  - is adult visual novel in Lust Hunter world. It's been a few years since you left the Village. But traveling can't last forever. So you're going back to the Village. You are met at the tavern by your old friends, Mirana, Gaffer Choo, Lumberjack, Slutty Kathy and many others. Night. Tavern. Wood crackles in the fireplace and the aroma of ale and fried sausages wafts through the air. You sit at the head of the table with your familiar and remember about past adventures. Each of them has a story with you and they want to remember it and tell it to each other. Mirana will tell how you and she/he tried to steal Orc's body part from the goblins. Lumberjack he/she taught you how to chop wood. Herbalica Flower will remind you how you were captured in the jungle, and Slutty Kathy about the huge monster with tentacles.
