St. John - Ellis County, KS
A true prairie church standing alone miles out in the country.
Another minimalistic cat piece I made for Pixelcast - 24. I had fish and cats as pets growing up, but never at the same time. I wonder how the cats would have reacted to them. Anyway, I miss my cats. They're all dead now.

Curiosity abounds when land dwellers are faced with a slice of the water world.
I kept the design simple this time and made the playback speed slightly slower than usual. Hopefully this allows viewers to better understand the process. Although, I should mention I created a rough draft and pinned down my color palette before making this final version, as is the usual practice. This makes my actions much more precise and results in a smoother, more engaging video than if I go in raw. <...
St. Teresa - Hutchinson, KS
Unique asymmetrical design and artful use of common red brick make this historic building stand out.

St. Joseph - Hays, Kansas
I'm excited to present my first work of a new series. As promised, I will be depicting real-life churches in western Kansas. I decided to go with a skewed top-down view, which allows me to capture the complete structure with surprising detail.
This particular church has special significance to me, as I've attended several weddings and funerals there. I even helped carry my grandfather's casket through those doors.
At some point, I would like to pixe...
I made this artwork to celebrate a few recent milestones in the growth of my community. 3k followers on Twitter. 500 on Facebook. 700 on Instagram and fast approaching 1k.

I just want to say thank you for being a part of my creative journey. Your feedback and support help keep the whole operation afloat. Truly, thank you for your patronage.&...

Preflight
Exploring more aircraft designs, but this time our bird and pilot are peacefully parked on the ramp. I challenged myself to create subtle, yet meaningful animations. Turns out, making slower animation is actually more difficult than the hyperactive flashy stuff where you can just hide the messy frames with speed. The slightly foreshortened figure was a bit tricky to apply motion to, but I think his actions are all clear with the subtle expression I was going for. The relaxed sce...
Now that's what I'm talking about! After 4 months in the making, all the pilots are paired with their ships in sparking colors. So many fun designs to work with here. With all the personalities and background info I've come up with, a rich world has been ripened for a potential video game project. I doubt that will ever happen but it's certainly interesting to think about the possibilities.
I had a blast with this series and learned a lot. Especially the portraits were a challenge for ...
Finally, all the pilots have assembled. I think I captured a nice balance of cool and odd characters, who could nicely fill out the cast of a video game. Who's your fave?
