August's Plan

Hey everyone.  Head's up that August will be sort of a non-sex month for me.

One reason is because my wife's daughter will be with us for about 3 weeks starting this Wednesday, and like a lot of kids, they like to snoop around and she likes cartoon-stuff.  I'd rather keep it clean.  With that said, it's the PERFECT time for me to do the next Superman & Black Canary page, as it is a slow, talking heads page with Green Arrow and Flash.

Starfire and Nightwing Update 01

Unless things REALLY change, the votes for July go to Starfire and Nightwing.  I still personally like the idea of King Koopa and Princess Peach, so I may do that just because it's a cool paring, but I wanted to get this one started.

2 Contest Ideas - Thoughts?

I'm leading toward the second idea, but I'm curious if anyone has strong feelings about one being more powerful than the other.  I really want my pinups to be more interesting and evoke more emotion.  Some of my older ones feel really flat and uninspired, somehow, and I really want to change that.

In any case, here are the two ideas that I've come up with for that Roundscape Adorevia contest.

Too much red?

I did a super fast recoloring job on the demoness and her tentacles.  

Holy geez, there's a lot of red.

But I put the question out to you guys - do you prefer green or red for the antagonist?

Contest Entry - Idea 01

Good afternoon (probably), everyone. 

As I'd mentioned in one of my recent posts, I'm entering this Roundscape Adorevia contest over on H-F.  This is my first idea, using the character "The Succubus" and some green-skinned demon with huge tits and tentacles.  And a long coat.  And horns.  

Yeah, maybe because she's a demoness, I should change her skin to red.  But I'm not sure if that'd be too much red?

Spider-Man CYOA Page 03 - VOTING IN COMMENTS

As the title suggests, I'm doing voting in the comments.  This way, I can track who voted for which option, make sure there's no double-voting, and maybe even get a dialog going if I'm lucky.  ;)

Anywho, we finally get to have a little bit of fun. 

Voting is going to run through the end of July, which gives me time to do some other things I want and need to get done.

Spider-Man CYOA Page 03 Update 01

Here is my initial sketch for the third Spider-Man CYOA page.  

As you can see, Spidey will be faced with the choice of helping Gwen, who is crying, while dealing with a gun-toting fella - or Mary Jane, who is dealing with Eddie Brock.  And where there is an Eddie Brock, there is usually a Venom symbiote, which you can see a bit of near his shoes.

This is where we'll make our first choice, so it's going to be exciting!  :D

Clark and Lois Update 01

I searched Google Images for about two hours today, looking for some anime girl to draw for my next pinup - put the new style through the motions, you know.  Sadly, I did not find anything suitable, so I went with one of my two comic book guys - Superman!

Yes, his cock is gigantic.  Comically large.  Two hands-for-Lois large.

This will be in pencil, but I think it'll be epic.  That word is over-used, but it felt good to type.  Hehe.  Enjoy!

New Patreon Banner Update 02

I decided to forego inking.  One reason is because I think it gives me a way different look, as far as the style goes, which is pretty cool - more Joe Madureira and less Todd McFarlane.  

The other reason is because it's a LOT faster, since I don't worry about being so precise.

I think the coloring is pretty bold and bad-ass, too!  Hehe.

I want to do a lot more pencil-style work for the reasons stated above.  However, I will definitely finish the Sup...

New Patreon Banner Update 01

After looking around at some other Patreon creators' pages, and looking around elsewhere, I thought...gosh, my banner is sort of...crappy.  I don't like to say that, but apparently the size should be 1600 x 400.  So it is.   And although a lot of people take existing art and make sort of a collage, I find it too much trouble, and I'd rather create something fresh and new.

Until this is finished, I won't be doing a new comic page.  At the same time, once this is finished...

Solo Pinup Option Now Available!

Hey everyone.  Not sure how it shows up when I edit my goals/rewards (if at all), but I just made two changes.  

The first is that I'm giving $1 patrons - of which there are none - access to my initial sketches.  The second is that I've made available one (1) solo female pinup as a $25 tier.  I don't want to take too much time away from the comics, and I already added the poll for a monthly pinup, but this is a way to give a deep discount to someone who may want one of ...

Spider-Man CYOA Page 01

Here it is.  After all that time, and a lot of effort!  It isn't quite how I pictured it, as I had some issues - and I still can't write - but in the end, I think I'm pretty happy with it.  As usual, thanks a lot for your patience and I hope you liked seeing the page come together.

Just in case some of you don't see my H-F stuff (or are watching too many people.  hehe).  Here is the final cover.  I'll continue to upload the finished art here as well as wherever else.

Or maybe it should be 02.  Either way, this gives you a better idea of what it's going to look like, at least generally speaking.  I think it's a pretty good layout.  The title and blending the characters into the background will be the trick, but I have ideas for both.  :)

New Project - SpiderMan CYOA

In between commissions, I have decided to do a Spider-Man CYOA (Choose Your Own Adventure) comic.  I recently plotted it out in a bare bones style, and a lot of tweaking will still need to be done.  And this is obviously a huge undertaking, but I'm not in a hurry.  I also love Spider-Man and CYOAs.  

While I work on the cover, I'll be firming up the story and the scenes.  I also have the first page or two pretty much set, so I have some time to figure it all out.&n...

Superman and Black Canary Page 03 Update

Well, here is the page.  All inked and flatted, and ready for coloring!  I'll probably do some kind of textured background for the first and last panels, but I'm keeping it pretty simple.  

The hardest thing about this page was thinking about the "tech" hallway leading to a suburban bedroom.  I mean, what does a Watchtower bedroom look like, and would anyone really be comfortable with a bunch of metal in their bedroom?  Eh.  

Reward Tier Changes for May-->

After thinking about it, and checking out some other Patreon members, I thought I'd change the reward setup.

$1 is still a "tip jar".  I've reduced the cost of seeing my sketches and WIPs from $3 to $2.  I've reduced the cost of the 300dpi art from $10 to $5, and instead, you'll get a PSD file with layers at $10.

I think this is better.  There was no real reason to pledge $5 before, but now I think it's more enticing, and it's cheaper to see the progress updates. &...

Perspective Grids!

First, I apologize for all of these NON adult posts lately, but sometimes I just feel excited about something, and that's what I decide to share.

In this case, I just found Painter's perspective grids.  They came out with Painter X3, but nonetheless, they're awesome!  I don't know how Photoshop does them, but since I prefer not to use Photoshop for the drawing portion of my process, it doesn't matter.  Ha!

Anyway, there are presets for 1, 2, and 3-point perspective...

Green Arrow - unused

Here is what was going to be a panel from page 1 of my Superman & Black Canary comic.  I'm always disappointed when a cool image doesn't work, or can't be used, which was the case here.  But it is what it is, and for the sake of the comic's flow, I had to scrap it.  

Still, I really love the way my Green Arrow looks.  More DC Animated than "Arrow".
