Something I like about Grease is how distinct the casting and characterization is, like they're already cartoon characters. Making this particular one I realized: "Damn. Everyone's actually quite drawable".

A while ago I was commissioned to draw stills for a Grease play, where a chore would sing the songs, and in between numbers a voice off would narrate the plot, with illustrations to visualize the scene. I choose a Disney-esque style for this one, with colored outlines (I usually do black). Olivia Newton John turned out to be pretty easy to synthesize into a Disney princess model. Quite a little Ariel-like.
