Sneak Peek at the upcoming Best of the Worst Spotlight
Here's some behind the scenes photos of the construction of this year's Halloween Best of the Worst set. Rich built the trees out of basic dollar store foam board and also painted them. The cauldron was detailed by Jay, from a basic Halloween store cauldron that was modified, and he also made the "burning embers" under the cauldron from a string of Halloween lights with expanding foam insulation sprayed over them and then spray painted various shades of grey and red. The shape of the ember pi...

Happy Halloween, everyone! This week, we shot two new videos. The first is a Best of the Worst spotlight and we also finally shot a new Half in the Bag! For Half in the Bag, we discussed The Haunting of Bly Manor and Borat 2. So now we're working on editing those as well as finishing up the second part of the latest TNG re:View. Coming soon!

While cleaning up our studio, I discovered this mold covered clipboard under a pile of trash. This is from LAST years Halloween BOTW and it's Rich Evans pre-production artwork of his designs for the tombstones. Just wanted to share some of the amazing work Mr. Evans does! It's always a wonderful discovery. Then I throw it in the trash.

Well, we shot our Halloween Best of the Worst the other day and editing has begun. The movies sucked, the discussion was long, and a lot of witch's brew was consumed. The Halloween episodes are always my favorite to edit and the above gif is a little sneak peak at the eventual video. --->jay
Also, the next Mike and Rich TNG video should be coming real soon, followed by a short follow-up to the Friday the 13th re:View where Jay and Josh talk a bit more about some of the other sequels....

We'll post some behind the scenes photos of putting this set together in the coming weeks too.

We've posted these before, but here's the editing timeline for the Friday the 13th re:View. These are actually way less complicated than Best of the Worst edits, although it may not look like it based on the image. The first edit was close to 1hr 20mins long but I managed to get it trimmed to under an hour. The stuff that got cut was mostly talk about some of the other sequels but the video was meant to focus on parts 4 and 6 so that stuff got pulled to keep the video cleaner and less ramblin...

And just in time to start adding clips to the Friday the 13th re:View, the new series box set has arrived, which means I can pull clips from the new 4K scans of the first 4 films. They really are an improvement over past releases. Plus even though its using older transfers for everything past Part 4, this new set has at least corrected them to their proper color grading and aspect ratios which previous releases have screwed up. This has been a fun one to edit so far.

Hey everyone! As mentioned in a previous update, Mike and Rich shot an epic 3.5 hour discussion about more favorite Star Trek episodes. That's going to be a beast to edit and will probably be split into two videos like the last one. In addition to that, Jay and Josh are shooting a spooky re:View today for the Friday the 13th franchise, mainly on Parts 4 and 6. In addition to that, we've been hard at work building props and set pieces for the upcoming Halloween Best of the Worst.
And spe...

We're not even shooting the Halloween episode of Best of the Worst for a couple more weeks but we're already doing work to get everything ready. Jay has been editing the intro sequence for this year's episode as well as overhauling a cheap-o store bought cauldron to make it look a little better. Booooo!
2020-10-04 20:46:19 +0000 UTC View PostAnd no, not the terrible new Star Trek. But Mike and Rich talking TNG! That's right, yesterday we shot our next top 5 episodes on re:view. Rich and Mike talked almost non-stop for 3 hours and 19 minutes. Now the editing begins! Stay tuned!

We're almost done with the next Best of the Worst episode (although there's a part that still needs to be shot that may take a bit more time than usual) so here's a preview of the movies we watched. We actually watched about three and a half movies but these are the main three we ended up discussing. Any guesses?
2020-09-27 22:29:16 +0000 UTC View PostHey everyone. We just shot a new Best of the Worst over the weekend! It's our first normal 3 movie/4 person episode since March! And it was a rollercoaster of a day in terms of the movies. So we've just started editing that now. Also coming up, Mike and Rich are planning to do another 5 favorite TNG episodes. And then there will also be another HITB being shot...sometime soon-ish. Maybe? Depends on what is out that we can/want to talk about while also avoiding the disease boxes formerly known...

Hey kids! We're doing some major cleaning and organizing preparing for a bunch of new shoots coming up - BOTW, HITB, and more TNG talk from Mike and Rich. We're also shooting a top secret new project. It's top secret so I can't talk about it. But, we've discovered we have TONS of Star Wars toys. These are really big bins. The photo doesn't do it justice. It stands well over 64 feet high. Thinking about donating all these toys to our local wood chipper.

We pulled together the ol' cheap tan couches today to film a new "Rich and Jay Talk About" video. This time, we catch up on Cobra Kai seasons 1 and 2 since a lot of people are only just now discovering it since it's been added to Netflix. The discussion also ended up being a mini-re:View of The Karate Kid Part 3 since it's kind of hilariously bad.
