Been working on this picture of Vasya and Morozko after reading The Bear and the nightingale. Well, "reading", I've been listening to the audiobook instead but it's REAALLY good, the narrator does an excellent job and I'm now just waiting to get another audible credit so I can listen to the next book. I'm also thinking of buying the books too, since I liked it so!

I have been working on this picture for several months after lightly kicking myself for never drawing a full page illustration with a background. It's obvious my one true love is character focused art, but man making a background and actually finishing it is a seriously pat on the shoulder. This is yet to be finished, the background needs shading and a banner needs to be painted BUT it's 80% done!

July has been an odd month for me, packed with both alot of work and vacation. Because of this, I haven’t managed to finish as many artworks as I usually do. I wanted to try out a reimagined alternate outfit for Zelda after I saw the botw2 trailer. For some days I thought back and forth about the design, leaning first more traditional kimono inspired, but after I drew in the short jacket it all came together. I kept the boots from botw and the simple shirt and pants, though a bit different. The color palette is based on the very classic twilight princess. Would ne a fun call back to include those colors in an outfit of hers.

I have been experimenting lately with different style influences and trying to alter my art a bit to fit what I admire in other people's artworks, but this picture was to me a more return to what I really like to do and feels natural to me while also looking at other's art not as a style I wish I could do, but to see how they build up anatomy and focus on shape. My goal for 2019 is to get a better grasp on the fundamentals so my art can reach that new level.

Been playing sekiro lately in between drawing and studying on two exams. It’s a frustrating but addicting game. I have also been experimenting with a thick brush on procreate which I have fallen in love with. It makes the lines much more dynamic and satisfying to draw.
