Battle Through the Nine Realms - Chapter 48 - A Worthy Death

“That is not how one should die.”

The voice sounded so warm and comforting, yet there was a hint of anger in it.

Opening his eyes, the darkness faded, and the same Valkyrie he had seen twice now stood there before him.  Her gold hair pulsed with power, and the white Pegasus she rode stomped a hoof upon the stone.

They were in a hallway different from the one in which he had met Odin.

“What?” Einar muttered, trying to stand but couldn’t.

He was on h...

Ultimate Level 1 - 194 - Outsmarting the Tower

“We really need to figure out how those brown cows are bringing so many allies,” Batrire said as she watched Fowl check all the corpses. “Is it like a magical summoning spell, or are there really that many of these things inside this tunnel system?”

Shrugging, Max stared off down the tunnel.

“I can scout and bring back whatever I find. If we go slow, we might be able to decrease the number of additional groups that attack. My biggest concern is what lies further do...

Battle Through the Nine Realms - Chapter 47 - Portals and Realms

Measuring height wasn’t always easy but there was no doubt the troll standing near the portal and roaring with enough force that it actually hurt his ears, had to be close to fifteen-foot-tall.

Massive legs that were taller than him and thicker than Hallad provided power, and the skin was gray. Huge foot-long claws ran off its massive hands, and the muscles that showed underneath the rubbery, textured skin left no doubt it was much tougher than the others they had faced.

In its ...

Ultimate Level 1 - 193 - Cooked Minotaur

“Get the left one!” Max shouted, motioning to the furthest minotaur from him.

A pack of three more were charging at them, their cloven hoofs pounding on the hard-pack dirt of the tower floor they were on.

The floor was a mix of farmland with massive corn stalks and other crops filling fields and a village filled with stone and wooden houses and shops.

Massive minotaurs filled the area, some brown and some black. They were ten feet tall, and the brown ones wielded two axe...

Rise of the Last Dragon Rider - Chapter 45 (Missing)

Another Missing Chapter - Not sure again how they are vanishing. Let me know if more are missing!

Lord Hurem had sent a servant to tell his wife and Ava to wait a bit longer.

Kaen watched as his soon-to-be father-in-law read a note, his fingers shaking.

“Everything ok?”

The older man chuckled, put the note in his vest pocket, and smiled. Unconsciously, he wiped his hand on the outside of his new vest one of the servants had brought him.

Rise of the Last Dragon Rider - Chapter 40 (Missing?)

Apparently this chapter is missing (can't find on Patreon... which is weird). Reposting for all those who are looking for it.

Kaen felt the fear and concern through their bond before Pammon said a word.

Focus on where I am and tell me if you see him.

Dread and anger billowed up from Pammon, and Kaen closed his eyes, letting his lifestone burn, shifting his vision to Pammons.

Is that–

It is. That is Stioks and Juthom. Wh...

Friday Fun

Small update as today's chapters drop (and everyone waits for Monday's chapters).

I started book 2 of Viking this week and am already 10 chapters into it. When book 1 ends in July, I'll begin releasing those (won't be as 'edited' as the first book was - which was sent through a round of edits before it hit RR or Patreon (and still had some small errors).

Book 4 is almost done with Edits on UL1 and then get sent to publisher for their final version! Slowly working m...

Battle Through the Nine Realms - Chapter 46 - Chaos and Death

The sound of the horn drew their pack to the first two groups, trying to get there as quickly as possible.

As they arrived, the number of roars and the sound of fighting left no doubt that the other group had found what everyone was searching for.

Through the trees, dozens of trolls could be seen closing in on the pack with Vog shouting orders.  The Vikings had created a circle, shields and spears out, trying to hold off against the barrage of trees that slammed i...

Ultimate Level 1 - 192 - Legendary Crafting

“You sure this is a good idea? Leaving the safety of the faction?”

Max nodded and waved off Tom’s concerned expression.  “Let’s be honest.  Sitting around doing nothing isn’t going to make my life better, and if I remember, someone told me to live and enjoy life.”

“Yes!” exclaimed Tom. “That was before you had someone attempt to kill you! Again!”

Tanila and Max both shrugged and continued walking toward the gate of the property.   View Post

Battle Through the Nine Realms - Chapter 45 - Enlisting Aid

Groans came from Skarf as three of the four young warriors approached.  One was a potential shieldmaiden, and the other two were hoping to earn their dreng title soon.

“Use the shield! Protect Skarf!” Einar shouted as the three arrived.  “Don’t get hit!”

None of them said anything, moving into a standard row of three, three feet or so between each one, spears out.

Einar didn’t care that both men’s spears wavered slightly from the fear they...

Max stood at the gate, the guards shifting nervously even though they outnumbered him 5 to one.

Without flinching, he held the package still on his shoulder, thankful that two guards had done as he asked. He had sent some to deliver messages to the Faction house and try to find the rest of his party.

“Someone better have a hell of a good reason for waking me up!”

Max couldn’t help but grin as he heard Captain Vella shouting from behind the closed doors to the guard's a...

Battle Through the Nine Realms - Chapter 44 - A Constant New Threat

“Is this threat that serious?” Einar asked as he rode next to Thorodd.

Forty total warriors were riding to a section of the barrier a few days north of where they had just been for the mining camp.

“Five trolls over the last month have pushed through the barrier, and the Lendmann is struggling to handle the invasion. The number of deaths has been costly, and now we need to try and find out where they are coming from and how to stop it.  You’ve read the reports and kno...

Clearing his throat, Tom held up five fingers.

“Tower floor number ten is where you finally move past the max stat points of fifteen per item given. Sometimes, items have all the stat points equal. Other times, they don't. So, seeing a ring with, say, five to strength, dexterity, and constitution before level ten would be a gift from the gods. Understand?”

Max nodded, writing down the information.

“From Floor ten to twenty, it typically goes up to twenty-five total sta...

Gorm finished reading the reports he had made each of them fill out, along with the letter Lambi had written.  Setting the papers down on the desk before him, he leaned against the straight-back wooden chair, frowning at the three who stood before him.

The room they were in was designed for a clerk at the outpost near the barrier, yet right now, he needed a place out of prying ears.

“Einar, you’re the newest one out there.  These other two have seen that area before ...

Battle Through the Nine Realms - Chapter 42 - Never a Dull Moment

“I’m not sure how we are going to manage when you leave us,” Thorodd stated.  “Already you have two shieldmaidens who were excited about a new toy they found.  Apparently, they were about to kill Lampi because he wouldn’t let them join us returning to Kopanes.”

“Either you’re a sage trapped in a warrior's body or one of the luckiest fools next to Loki himself,” Torfi whispered.  “None of us have ever made it this far without fighting at least a few trolls.”

“That’s the secret,” Einar whispered. “Smells worse than a troll.”

Battle Through the Nine Realms - Chapter 40 - Always Trying To Make Gold

A giant bonfire burned near the wall, and everyone who wasn’t forced to man the walls that ran along the stone mine in the middle of this forest was present.

Einar had learned that someone had stumbled upon this so long ago, a rectangular stone 100 yards long, thirty yards high, and twenty feet wide.  It was as if a pillar of some kind had fallen over.  Deep inside, it was ore that took a while to chip out of the exceptionally hard stone.  Even after hundreds of years, ...
