In under fifteen minutes, we had finally managed to strip off all the gear and harvest their hearts.
“I sure am glad these casters wear robes,” Dirk stated as he tied the sleeves around his waist. “It really makes carrying this stuff easier.”
Xeld started to laugh and even Turk was nodding in agreement as he stuffed a few more pieces of armor into the opening near Dirk’s head.
“Stop playing and hurry up! We need to go!” shouted Vreek.
Vreek had been overl...

Fitoz finally finished cursing at me, and he sent his two orc helpers off to fetch some armor.
“You three are each a head taller now! None of that armor I made will fit you! You should have told me you had eaten a heart and I would have known to add more to your measurements.”
Fitoz tossed the armor that had been meant for me to Dirk.
“These will fit you or the other one. You two can decide who gets it.”
Vreek shook his head as he ran a sharpening stone along t...

“Let me show you something,” Brar said as he motioned us towards a table on the side of his tent. Walking over I could see a hide covering the table and realized there was a crude map sketched on the hide.
“This is a closely guarded secret and what I am about to share is even more so.” Brar was looking at me as he saw me studying the map. “Are you able to tell anything by looking at it?”
Looking it over I knew where we were. The colored stone with the painted yellow ey...

I was surprised that the cook did not say anything when we returned with Vreek and got another helping of food. In the lower camp, it was one serving per day and only one. It was not worth the risk to try and sneak your way back into line. Getting caught was matched with a myriad of horrible punishments. We saw what had happened to one goblin who attempted and failed.
Vreek smiled as he sat there holding his bowl in his hand. He had taken a few bites but had been studying us for a few m...

“We WON!” Alex shouted as he ran, jumping into Andrew's arms.
Watching them play that 97 minutes of soccer almost ended me. The game was 0-0 all the way through it. Going into penalty kicks for the championship was a dream for everyone but me as the father of the goalie.
I had bitten my nails off already during the game and when the other team lined up for a shoot off I found nothing but stubs to bite. Each time Alex had managed to read the kicker and the ball. He had managed ...

Brar poked his staff through the piles of spoils on the ground. He shook his head seemingly in disbelief as he looked at the two piles in his tent. I risked a glance at the captains around us and I saw they too were stunned at what we had returned with. Most of the goblins in here were as tall as the heroes had been. Brar was even taller but the robes he wore hid the massive frame I knew he had underneath. Brar bent down occasionally and would pick up something with his long fingers and inspe...

Hurry boys, I whispered to myself as I watched my two boys scramble up the trees. In a moment the trap would spring around us and we had to be in place. We could hear the warning calls from the other goblins announcing the human heroes were in the forest.
The sounds of yelling and shouting kept getting louder and closer. Limbs snapped as the goblins ran through the forest along the trail we were hiding on. I could not understand what the heroes were shouting but I imagined it w...
