Hello Everyone!

Thank you so much for your patience with me. Since I've not been able to draw because of several health issues, I want to make it up for you by not billing you in November (and probably December too). I will still attempt to make things during those months (commissions in November for example), but it doesn't feel right to me to bill you after October has been so barren.

I hope you understand and I hope you still stick with me!

Quick update!

I'm just letting you know that I'm a bit absent right now because I'm nursing myself back to health (thought it was a flu but after all this time, I caught the big C). I tried drawing horizontally but unfortunately, I just keep falling asleep! I will be back with more things once I recover.

Scaredycat Style Test

Hit kind of a wall when I tried to get into sketching this comic, so I made this quick thing to figure out where I want to end up at, style wise. I'm pretty pleased with the look! I don't think I've ever done a whole comic in screentone so this will be exciting.

Scaredy Cat - Digital Layout

After the pencil layout comes transferring everything into clip studio paint! As you can see I have added the text and a bit of 3d Assets to help me draw this comic already. I like doing this all at once because then I "only" have drawing left.

Sometimes I add the speechbubbles at this stage too, but I'm not sure yet how I'll do those, so they will come in later, maybe with the sketch.

Scaredy Cat - Layout

Just thought it would be interesting to share some behind the scenes on my comic process.

It's not much to look at, but after I finish the skript, I usually sketch out very messily how the panels will look like. This is essential because that way I know how many pages I plan for (13 by the way) and I can start the next step, which is the paneling in Clip Studio Paint (I do that before I even do any sketches).

Transformation Commission

This was such fun to do - I loved being able to draw a more "classical" werewolf. The shading on the final step is meant to invoke the kind of lighting you might get from a flashlight, just a bit less contrasty. I think it works quite well. :)

I just had to draw that meme outfit (?) that is going around on nos.

Tried to go for a more stylized approach - I like it for the lines, I'm not entirely sold on the coloring. This would probably work better traditionally?

Some might recognize this concept from one of the Mostly Monsters Books I did. I decided to line it and clean it up and make a sticker out of it! Honestly the most difficult thing was keeping this simple, readable ENOUGH (a bit of chaos is wanted) and still appealing. I think I did a pretty good job!

Something simple to get back into things - since it is so tiny and simple (this is already the high res version) I don't have any extra material, but I got some stuff lined up that I want to get to this month~ I'll try to do more timelapses too I feel those are always interesting.

I partially wanted to do weird colors but if I'm completely honest, I kinda screwed up my mixing. Turns out I have a lot to learn about acryla gouache!

I do enjoy it though, it is very interesting to use traditional media again.

Update of sorts

Hello everyone! I’m sorry things are so quiet around here - I’m still struggling health wise and the heat in germany does me in too. Turns out the longer you can’t draw the more difficult it gets to come back to it.

I do have next week off work though and will do my darndest to make the most of it and offer you some stuff before the month is done. This goes ESPECIALLY for the bust commission tier - I will do what I can to catch up in the next seven days.
