WIPs for Thanks a Million!

On June 15th, I hit one million pageviews on DeviantArt! I try not to make a big deal out of social media numbers, but I can't help but maybe an exception for this one. I remember way back when I was starting out, I freaked out about hitting 1,000 for the first time. Now, here I am over a decade later, with a thousand thousands. XD

Coincidentally, I also hit 2,000 deviations with this one being submitted on DeviantArt, too! :3

WIPs for Little Runt (Page 64)

As you can see, I went through a bunch of changes with how the text would be positioned, but also how it would be written. I wanted to make it feel as natural as possible, so I changed the dialogue at the end to better flow into Nes's response.

As you can see, I simplify blocks of text to save time, but it's fine because I have the actual text I need saved in my script!

One major change I did between the thumbnail and the final page is that I had divided the two blocks of text into three, and put the third one at the bottom between Nes and his "self."

I'm self-aware enough to know how sad and emotionally intense this comic has been so far. Every scene has resulted in Nes showing pain, anguish, tears, and more. Almost nothing happy has happened. I know this kind of story isn't everyone's cup of tea, but there's a reason it had to be this way.

Sorry for the lack of streams lately!

The past couple of weeks have been pretty busy for me, between getting my taxes done, a very sudden freelance opportunity with a six day deadline, falling behind on commissions due to these things, and more. I genuinely have enjoyed streaming! It's just not been practical for me for me the past two weeks, and like I said, I've always wanted this to just be a hobby! I don't want to feel stressed about needing to do other things while I'm streaming. ^^;

I'm hoping to start streaming again...

I love how the atmosphere turned out for this one, even with minimal "detailed" shading! Doing flat colors with broad gradients like this for shading is a style I'm looking into for my next storytelling idea. :3

Even though this is a flat color commission, I still went ahead and added some broad shading/gradients to give it some atmosphere! It doesn't follow the forms directly, so it didn't take very long and I don't really count it as the sort of shading I'd charge for. :p
