hair texture attempts

some of the hair experiments i did in the past week. in the end i ended up making over 40 completely different textures trying to figure out what level of detail and shine looks best. the problem is that since the hair is white, it's impossible to add shine without making the hair WAY too dark in order for it to show up. and the level of detail it added didn't really fit with how soft the rest of the model is. PLUS IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO DRAW TEXTURES IN BLENDER AND I WAS HINDERED BY HAVING TO DR...

okay gamers what do we think of this? better or worse?

I made the background overall darker and fixed the gradient. moved the chat up and made my model smaller, as well as moved the logo up there. changed the location of the x's as well as the sub/follow/dono bars so that the negative space on top and bottom is more even. and changed the outline of the gameplay area to be thinner and more cohesive with the rest of it.

lemme know ur thoughts!!

my modeller matt is doing such an amazing job on this! every item in the world is being hand sculpted and textured from scratch!! the lights on the mousepad rotate around as well :D

couldn't sleep last night bc it was too hot, so i worked on these until 6am instead

idk if i've talked about the Lore TM much on here, but briefly, Dazey is the ruler of purgatory and looks after lost souls! which is a theme i'm trying to incorporate visually on stream! the soul animation will be the new follower alert, and i'm tryna animate stray as a transition screen.

i'll be remaking all of the sub badges to be little souls too, bc that's what everyone in chat will be!! ;u;&...

model texture update (and mouf sculpt!!)

my first pass on the textures! need to work on the hair more (the bangs especially) and intensify the shadows/contrast overall. the gold parts will have an actual metallic shader when we're done so i'm not worrying about them too much.
