Rune Moods

I have a habit of smoothing Rune's hair out over time more than it should, so this was a little exercise in keeping it more wild! Also expression practice, expressions were based off of whatever song I was listening to.

Old Akio Concept Art

A much older piece that dates pre-OBT's reboot, featuring Rune's son Akio! I figured I'd share this since I mentioned in the other Akio piece that there was one other rendered picture of him.

Make A Wish

I think this is the first fully-rendered art I've done for Akio since OBT's reboot! He knows the move Wish since he hatched, which is very strange for a Vulpix. I wonder where he got it from?

January 2019 Postcard

During a cold mountainous excursion, it seems like Rune got a little too excited.

Early Yohann Concept Art (2017)

Yohann has always been into fashion, even before I knew how to draw outfits for him!

Yohann Ref

Another future OBT character, Yohann the psyduck! He loves human fashion and anything related to it, though other pokemon find it strange that he wears so much clothing. He's not seen wearing any clothing here, but you almost will never find him without some sort of accessory. He's an old friend of Malachi's whose blunt honesty keeps Malachi grounded.

A little gif I made late tonight! Simple 3 frames, but I liked how it turned out.

Sorry OBT content has been a little sparse this month, I've been busy handling financial aid stuff for school and catching up on commissions. I plan on doing double postcards next month to make up for none this month (with hopefully a bonus gift as well!), and I plan on posting pages again in January. Thank you all for hanging in there, it means the world to me!

Part of a 3 part series for my final project in my illustration class! For this project, we had to use Adobe Illustrator to create 3 pieces that all revolve around a central theme. Of course I chose my comic, and for all three projects I tried to feature characters from the comic in monochromatic settings near a body of water. It was a fun project to do, if tedious because I still have difficulty working with Illustrator.

Dielle Reference

Future OBT character! Needed a reference for one of my classes, but I thought I'd share her here as well as a little sneak peek. Some of you may recognize her, her design changes so often though I wouldn't be surprised if people weren't able to! I think I've finally settled on a subspecies variation for her though, can you guess what it is?

Inktober Day 10: Marigold

 Jealousy, hatred, anger, it's hard to find anything positive about marigolds. They're dangerous flowers, and receiving them should be seen as a sign of passive aggressive tendencies. 

Inktober Day 9: Cattail

 Offering a friend you're feuding with a bouquet of cattails may seem strange, but is meant to represent apology and hope for prosperity in the relationship. But what happens if they don't accept it...? 

Inktober Day 8: Honeysuckle

 Honeysuckles are a simple flower, representing pure, unadulterated happiness. They also offer sweet droplets that are tasty to suck on. 

Trivia Tuesday 006

 Malachi has a large assortment of weaved items he's made himself in his spare time. Smaller projects, like decorative plates, are made with stray needles he collects on the coast. For larger projects, such as his wind shelter, he uses cuttings from the willow tree on the hill.

 On the grave of fallen family members or loved ones, you may plant a Daffodil in hopes that the deceased may find peace in their next life. They are said to guide souls to a place of rebirth and renewal.

Inktober Day 6: Queen Anne's Lace

 Spreading its blooms like an umbrella, Queen Anne's Lace offers protection to those that come across it. In the center of each bloom is a red dot, thought to represent the blood of a fallen comrade.

October may be over, but I still wanted to upload some of the catch-up I did for Inktober! I'll be spreading these out a little more so your guys' feed doesn't get overwhelmed.

Trivia Tuesday 005

 Surprisingly, the Guildmaster never talks about where he got his trademark defend globe. Rumors say that he reclaimed it from a convicted criminal sentenced to death, but such stories are tall tales. Knowing him, he probably saw that it was sparkly and took a shine to it.

I finally am starting a buffer back up again for OBT! This page was supposed to be lazy, but then I got really excited and put more effort into it, especially since this is the first time we meet our guildmaster and DM, Griffin McElroy. I didn't mean to make him Griffin, it just happened. That said, there's still some inconsistencies left over from not sketching things out properly, but it's not noticeable and doesn't impact the story so I'm not worried about it.

It looks like Rune and Malachi are preparing some new decorative plates for the holiday season!
