April '24 Character Poll

MioRie Fin

This ended up a bit sloppy, with me just rawdogging some color, but I really like how it turned out. That may be a bit of oshi bias, but still LMAO.

I wanted to try coloring like how I used to, so less rendering and more just hard shadows. I guess sort of cell shaded? I think there's still a lot for me to learn with a style like this but it's fun, simpler to do too. I'm mostly just happy I finally drew Rie after saying I was going too for like, the last three months aha.

Daki Post Mortem

This'll probably be a lot of me yapping, hopefully it makes sense and is coherent. Mainly I wanted to talk about what I learned working through this and what I can do going forward to make sure I don't get stun locked like I did.

In short, my impulsiveness makes it difficult to focus on long projects, and I certainly got complacent on my total stamina. However, the lessons I learned working on this are invaluable going forward and having something sold commercially is a big win for me....

Calli Expecting WIP

Alright, third time's the charm on WIPs that I like and actually want to finish lmao. I decided to try a character I haven't drawn in a long time and to try and make it even lewder. The face angle was pretty challenging, and I'm sure the mouth can still use more effort, but this was damn good practice.

Shiori Screen Break WIP

Spent some time working on this WIP today. I wanted to see if I could draw a character looking like they're appearing through a wall, or ideally the screen. I ended up copying the face from the ollie piece and then reworking it for shiroi. Spent a lot of time on the hands and I'm still not super satisfied with them, but they work lmao.

Anyways, my idea for this is to have the background black, and then make the cracks lighter, or maybe white? and then hopefully it's like she's appearin...

Mel Bunnysuit

After three disappointing (to me) sketches, I've finally got something I'm happy with and can share with y'all. I think I combined aspects from multiple outfits from her and the rabbit hole miku outfit since... I was looking at those illustrations for reference LMAO.

I'll probably touch up her bunny suit, try to add a bit more Mel flavoring to it. I decided to drop the jacket since uhhhh tasty anatomy. I didn't want to hide any of her body aha.

Amiris Touch Ups

I wanted to try and improve some of Amiris's design where I could. I simplified the coral horns (removed one of the branches) and tried to change up the locations of the scales. Ideally, they're more symmetrical and grouped together to cover her neck, shoulders and part of her back. Maybe they lead in towards the tail?

Then I added a neat sort of gradient to her arms, kind of like Selen or say, Nian from Arknights. Maybe her legs can have something similar too? Also detailed her eyes ...

Aspirations

I've posted a lot of OC stuff, but haven't really talked at all about my plans or ideas for them and I'd like to do that here. It ended up pretty long winded, but there's a tl;dr in the next paragraph.

Here's the finished piece to that Fream WIP I posted little more than a week ago now. It's been a damn long time since I've drawn sex, and I chose a pretty challenging pose to top it off.

Also tried using more dark colors across the illustration, I wanted to try putting more of the drawing in shadow. I think it turned out alright, hope y'all enjoy it.

I wanted something to post on twitter/pixiv so have a sort of (not very) lazy, sort of rkgk shiori in a ponytail. I originally wanted to put her in twin tails, since I thought it might look good but I wasn't satisfied so ponytail it was.

Kiara Com Finished

Spent the afternoon finishing up the kiara from last week. It was fun, and I even had enough time/energy to mess around with a background. It's not the greatest, but I think it adds to the overall image. I did include a version without the BG just in case.

It's been a long time since I've last drawn Kiara, and getting to see my improvement between this one and when I drew her back in May '23 was pretty cathartic.
