Cul-de-sac Moms Ch. 3

And here it is: the new chapter is ready, yay!

Even though the writing went smooth enough, editing this one took me much longer than expected, but finally it's done and I'm happy with the result.

Actually, I already have a fairly good idea of where to go with Chapter 4 and possibly 5 too, but that's a discussion for another day...

Just a quick post to let you all know that the writing of Cul-de-sac Moms Ch. 3 is proceeding smoothly. In fact, I only have to finish putting together the final scene, then the story will be concluded and I'll get started on the editing.

August game plan

As you probably know already, after the tie between An Offer He Can't Refuse and Cul-de-sac Moms in the last poll, my personal vote went to Cul-de-sac Moms. At that point I was still only 99% sure, but since then I've reached a 100% level of certainty.

In fact, I've already started writing Cul-de-sac Moms Ch. 3! So yeah, long story short: Cul-de-sac Moms Ch. 3 is going to be this month't project, yay!

Even though Little Sister's Big Butt came close enough, An Offer He Can't Refuse and Cul-de-sac Moms both did very well, equally well in fact, getting the same exact amount of votes, no less!

Next project!

Okay, time to pick the next story I'm going to write!

As I mentioned before, my first choice would be to go right back to Cul-de-sac Moms and write chapter 3, which I already have very clear in my mind.

However, the latest An Offer He Can't Refuse chapter was very fun to write, so I wouldn't mind focusing on another episode of that series either. Of course, there's always the issue of which characters to focus on within the big AO...

An Offer He Can't Refuse Ch. 16

Alright, here it is: after some delays in the past months, the new AOHCR chapter is finally ready!

Like I mentioned before, this episode is focused around a smaller cast, namely just Mike, Julia and Jennifer. In terms of sheer word count, I guess Jennifer takes a larger share here, but as far as I'm concerned like Julia always shines in a special way any time she's on, regardless of how big or small a role she has. But maybe that's just me.<...

Just a quick post to let you all know that I've finished writing An Offer He Can't Refuse Ch. 16 and I'm almost done editing it too!

I think I may be able to post Preview 1 as early as tomorrow, or Thursday at worst. Then the rest will follow shortly.

Just a quick post to let you all know that the writing of An Offer He Can't Refuse Ch. 16 is proceeding smoothly so far.

If all keeps going according to plan, I should be able to finish writing the story over the course of this week and part of the next. Adding a few days for editing, I'm pretty confident that I'll be posting this new chapter during the last week of the month. So yeah, good news, I guess!

Okay, here's what's gonna happen this month!

First of all, I'm glad to let you all know that I finished writing Cul-de-sac Moms Ch. 2 yesterday and I'll start editing it later today. I think it's not unreasonable to estimate that I'll be able to start posting Previews later this week, with the intention of posting the full chapter before the weekend is over.

So yeah, that story is almost done and will be readable very soon!

Just a quick post to let you all know that the writing of Cul-de-sac Moms Ch. 2 is proceeding smoothly, but not exactly as quickly as I initially hoped.

Last week I had way less time to write than I expected, and even though the weekend was productive I'm still behind schedule. At the moment I'm more or less two thirds of the way in, as far as writing down the story goes, plus there's the editing too after that.

Realistically, I don't think I can finis...

Well, these are interesting results for sure!

On the one hand, the single most voted option is the 'group thing' one, but on the other hand, the second most voted scenario (by just one single vote) is the 'just Mike and Julia' option.

So yeah, it seems like the two most extreme scenarios are the top rated ones, which does make sense actually.

As I mentioned before, I've been wondering about the many possible directions that An Offer He Can't Refuse could take moving forward.

Put it very simply, the question is this: which characters should the story focus on the most in the next episode(s)?

Right now the main cast is pretty broad, including Mike, Julia, Jennifer, Lyla and Lori, and obviously it's not so easy to handle all these characters at once. Also, the latest episodes have been group s...

Given that I have the story already pretty clear in my mind, I hope to be able to get it all down in writing before the end of the month. It seems doable, so that's what I'm going to aim for.

Like I mentioned before, this story poured out quite naturally, and was relatively easy to put down on the page. I guess some of the elements in the story were already there in the background of my mind, and indeed I have been thinking about a classic 'mothers and sons' type of scenario for a while, so there's that. At first I just meant to jot down a few ideas, but then a whole thing began flowing out and, just like that, I was writing something new. I didn't really mean to, but the scenes and characters and the underlying plot came so smoothly that it seemed wrong to stop the flow, so I kept going.

Since I don't have any strong preference for any option in particular, I'll keep the list reasonably long this month too.

Slightly behind schedule, I know, but still here it is: Little Sister's Big Butt Ch. 15 yay!

This chapter is meant to be the connecting episode that introduces the next few chapters, which are going to be set at Gabby's family's resort. Here Gabby and her twin cousins (Eddie and Rob) are already present, but of course their role will be much bigger starting from Ch. 16.

Okay, based on the survey results, it looks like adding a bunch of new character into the LSBB cast isn't going to be a viable option. I guess it makes sense: the cast is already pretty big as it is, so there's no need to bring in a bunch of new characters from Gabby's family as well.

Long story short, for the time being I'll keep  only Gabby and her cousins Eddie and Rob into the plot. Maybe Gabby's mom and aunt might make an appearance, but we'll see a...

Going back to LSBB for this month's chapter brought up some questions that I've had for a while regarding this series. 

What I'm wondering is more ore less this: given that Michelle, Tyler, Ellie, Al and Drew are now about to meet Gabby and her family, just how big a role should Gabby's family play in future chapters?

Okay, time to pick the next story!

As I mentioned before, I'm now ready to write something else beside An Offer He Can't Refuse. I feel that Ch. 15 is a good place to pause for a while, and after writing three new chapters in a row for this series, I could do with some variety! Still, I'm not exactly against writing another chapter either, so yeah, a little help in making a decision would be useful.

Almost done...

Just a quick post to let you all know that I'm almost done writing AOHCR Ch. 15. At the moment I'm in the middle of the final scene of the chapter, and I'm fairly optimistic about concluding it by the end of this weekend.

So yeah, taking into account the time it will take me to edit it after the writing is done, I guess the story could be ready at some point late next week, if all goes according to plan. Fingers crossed!

I'm almost done with the introductory stuff, then I'll move on to the main scene of the chapter, which is also a pretty important plot point for future episodes.  

As I mentioned before, this chapter will be ready for posting at some point in November, most likely in the second half of the month.
