Preserved moment in time

Kory Dark is doing a bit of stretching under my studio windows.

I have to admit I have a weakness for uninhibited women.

It’s not that I always default to create something explicit/erotic when I have the opportunity, but when the mood is right, and there is a mutual interest, I love to shoot something erotic.

I understand my motivation for creating something like this, and biology certainly plays a part. And I’ve talked to several women about what they get from it...

Ensnaring garters

The endless sinner helped me test-drive some HoneyBirdette accessories I bought for the studio, and we added some rope…

If you ever feel like shooting something like this with a model, I can give you one piece of advice: Ask. Many women find it sensual and exciting and are open to trying. Some will not, but I have never had anyone take offense to me asking.

If you do the tying, watch a few YouTube videos in advance to get an idea of what you are doing.

Georgia Brown in the old control tower

This little set is a “just passing time” set: We were waiting for the sun to do its thing, but neither of us are good at idling, so we decided to explore a few nooks and crannies, while passibg time.

This one is from a corner in the old control tower with little natural light from a window.

ƒ3.2 - 1/100 sec.

Georgia is amazing:

I spent one day shooting with her near my studio, and here are the stats:

Shot about 6000 frames.

The beautiful Arch

Clara Sinclair is showing off her new blouse on my studio couch.

These were shot with my Vintage 55mm ƒ0.95 around ƒ1.2 at 1/500 sec.

We shot this at the rear end of a set where I had been using my go-to 24-70mm Sigma Art lens, but I adore the look of the Canon Dreamlens.

Slot candy

I shot this set with Zulame (see lingerie post on Oct 1st) in an incredible canyon in Nevada.

I have an affinity for slot canyons.
Since we don't have any in Denmark, they may become super attractive (the neighbor's grass is always greener).
But I mean, even without the model, these are world wonders.

And before you ask, no, this is not Antelope Canyon (which is in Arizona near Page).
Antelope—all of them—are on Indian territory and require a guide to visit an...

Two sides of an interesting story

I love these two images.

They are indeed erotic and even explicit, but to me, they project so much emotion and sensuality. That emotion, alongside the lighting and “it could be at home” setting, transcends the explicitness.

It feels like a memory we wish we had.

And that makes it fascinating to me.

Please let me hear your point of view.

Granular Emotion

Nausica Yami is on one of Lanzarote’s black beaches.

I’m a total sucker for the coarse black sand; It’s larger than most sand grains I’ve seen before. I guess waves smashing volcanic rock/pebbles up on some other rocks for millions of years will do that.

Dark Matter With Clara Rene

In yesterday's post with Kaela, there was an abundance of gorgeous places to shoot, one of these gorgeous Fins, and I persuaded Clara René to pose for a few shots.

The BTS movies give you an idea of how bad-ass Clara (and the others) are.

As I alluded to in yesterday's post., there are no free lunches when it comes to creating art in nature,

Kaela, aka v.wild.art, whose Instagram name used to be Venusdesierra (my Tag name) - now changed to Venus de Tierra for the company profile (Yeah, I know), is exploring with me near Kanab.

We hiked up to this mountain pass on the top of a mountain, and it may look warm and pleasant, but I can assure you that some pictures lie.😁🤣

The sunset room

Another debuting model, @Nat_Damsgaard_model

It was the first time I shot with Nat; it came about as she was visiting Copenhagen the day after and asked if anyone wanted to shoot.

I raised my arm, and while shooting, I persuaded her to hang out long enough for us to shoot in the sun in the old control tower near the runway. My Studio, as you may remember, is adjourning to an old airfield.

ƒ2.8 1/80-160 sec.

Nat is a promising model with some skill, and this...

Say the magic word

CB.modelling from our first shoot.

Shot with a 57” Westcott deep umbrella and a couple of negative fill flags on the shadow side to create a deep shadow.

And I’ll say the Magic word myself:

The Green washroom

Right now, I’m actually in Lanzarote (I’ll return by tomorrow), so I thought I’d share a set I showed with Wiana the Last time we were there (Creating the Art Nude on Location course).

In keeping with the course's style, everything was shot in natural light, including this at ƒ3.5 - 1/100 sec.

Two large umbrellas (7’ Westcott White reflective umbrellas) provide lighting.
The main light is from the left, and another is almost directly over the camera to add a bit of fill and avoid too deep shadows. Because of the distance from the lights, a certain amount o...

Primaries with Celia

This is another set with the debuting Cecilia.

She has modeled before mind you, but it's out first shoot and it seems she has not done much professional work.
She is a natural, though, and you will see several more series with her here.
I do plan on shooting with her again over winter.

I shot these on the same shrink-wrapped Haybales as the Oct 2nd post.

A note on color images:

Blackness

I shoot way too few black women; we simply do not have that many in Denmark, but also, in general, the “model population” of black beauties is too low, in my opinion.

So here are a few pics I, for some reason, have not published before of Anneli Caicedo (Danish) And Mimi Desuka (Switzerland).

These are from four different shoots, but I think they brilliantly illustrate my fascination with how light reacts with black skin.

All 24mm ƒ4.5-8 and 1/200-1/250

I usually change the shutter speed when light conditions change and only change the aperture if I have to.

Million Dollar Hotel

The headline is a pun on the old Jim Jarmusch movie of the same name; the hotel being a tripped-up place that used to be great many years ago.

The lighting in this place was weird, so we adapted and got creative.

I only shoot nudes.

Except when a model asks me to do a little something in addition.
And I don’t hate the concept.

It might sound selfish, but I don’t want to spend the time retouching a series of images I don’t care for.

This is one of the notable exceptions with Zulame, who I made get up at 4 a.m. and hike, something she didn’t care much for but still did it.

Perhaps more importantly, I found the lingerie intriguing, which was the defining factor.

October on Patreon

Over the next month, we will tread some new ground and push some boundaries, and I’m super excited to show you what’s in store; it will be a magic month.

Starting November 4th, Apple will apply its 30% App Store commission fee on all Patreon transactions within its iOS app! I've heard it said it's only new subscribers but at this time I don't actually...
