Dixie Venus

This set is from the same day as the post from Aug. 3rd. It’s also from where the ferries were moored while at the port, and seeing the ladders going up, I saw an opportunity to have something Dixie Model could interact with. We shot these in the early afternoon, so the sun was still high in the sky, so I had to pay attention to the angle of the face.

I opted for the very low vantage point as I didn’t want anything to disturb the background, and I think that was the right choice for...

Torso on volcano

When I was in Lanzarote in April, I aimed to produce the footage for Art Nude On Location - Mastering Natural Light.

Wiana and I enjoy shooting more erotic content. Still, I didn’t want to include this in the video: So often, we continued a bit after shooting the “official” set or did some mini-sets outside the sets we did the video of. This was one of those cases where I thought the shadow resembled face and shoulders, and we extrapolated over that.

Rainbow dimple

Kylie Le Beau is in a multicolored hole in the ground in Nevada.

We shot these last year during a heatwave. It was so how that even the rocks in the shade were warm to the touch. It’s all-natural light, mostly backlit, as seen in the reflections. While we initially put oil on Kylie’s body, it wasn’t essential as she was always sweating a bit, so we had this nice sheen.

Rainbow dimple BTS

One interesting thing you show is some of the challenges when shooting in non-normal circumstances: When using an iPhone (which automatically adjusts white balance and exposure) you can see it's nothing like the real image. Reality is somewhere in between, but what happens in this particular spot is the rock reflects the blue sky making it appear blue/violet, but the auto-white balance removes that make end up a dull reddish-grey color.

Two-face

I love shooting with Mynte Model:

She is a self-proclaimed exhibitionist and loves to show off, as you can see o these images.

I always strive to have fun when shooting. It makes the images more interesting or cheeky (pun intended), relevant, and authentic. And it shines through when it happens.

I shot these two with my 57” Zeppelin deep umbrella fitted with a diffuser and a grid to limit some of the light otherwise falling on the background.

Bottom Up

This set also features Modeling with Louise, posing on the studio ottoman. I lit these purely with daylight from two windows through some Venetian blinds and used form V-flats and a flag in the top to further limit the light on the background.

The character of daylight is unique, and once you learn how to control and manipulate it, you can accomplish magic things.

Phone booth

This is a Phone Booth from a film set, placed in a basement, with Modeling with Louise inside.

The edges of the booth constrict light to a smaller area. I’m squeezed up against the wall; the reflection in the window is the cellar window from which all the light is coming.

Backlit

A classic backlit image of The Endless Sinner. Light-wise, it doesn’t get much better than this. The critical element for the wrap-around light is that the model is as close to the window as possible.

And in this particular place, the windows form a semi-circle, so even more light comes from the sides.

Watercave

Ilvy Kokomo, standing tall.

One thing I’ve noticed is that women who can overextend their ankles while retaining balance like Ilvy does here, always will appear to have longer legs in images, but also most have exceptional balance and a powerful pelvic region which I appreciate when photographing.

It has become a feature I look out for.

I’ll elaborate more on this in a future post with more examples, as this skill profoundly affects images, in my opinion.

Do you like coffee?

We noticed that Ivalu’s skin was the same color as her coffee, so we set out to create something from this.

I used a large Fresnel spot for lighting (A Fresnel lens is a flat lens made up of concentric rings to reduce spherical aberration.) 

And while it created nice shadows and made Ivalu’s boobs appear larger, it was perhaps less “unforgiving” for her stomach, as you can see in one of the images on the stool.

I’ll be the first to admit it wasn’t there when I shot this, but it should have been ;)

Herodiade just after the sun set behind some hills hence the soft light.

I placed her in a half-cave so light could reach her from the right, which creates the direction to the light and thereby creating the accentuation of her muscles I’m always looking for.

Hands up, baby Hands up

I shot these with Pretzelle, and I like the duality of the set:

One is teasing and innocent (ish). The other is anything but.

But the interesting thing is that when shot in a classy way, using good lighting and elegant retouching, you can get away with making many things you can’t otherwise.

The gorgeous Fatima Kojima in a pool.

If you are ever in LA, you should look her up and arrange a shot; she is an excellent model and the nicest person you can imagine. Oh, and she is also a sex and somatic coach.

This is shot early afternoon in direct sun.

Working with Wiana Model and The Endless Sinner is always fun, and we frequently shoot something kinky. This was after the end of the workshop we did in June, and we had a couple of extra days. The temperature was approaching 38 C/100F, so playing with water (even if it was cold) was welcomed.

I wanted to create a power-play scenario, and that’s just what we did.

Both models enjoyed it, especially The Endless Sinner, as you can tell from her expression.

Spreader-bar

Last summer, I did a shoot with The Endless Sinner in Scotland, where we had access to a spreader bar. It’s safe to say she very much lived herself into the role with that…

Here are some gorgeous images of the fantastic Herodiade from Lanzarote.

There is a subtle but essential difference between these, lightwise:

The first is shot early afternoon with the sun only a slight angle off from being directly above. You can tell by the shadow on the ground and under her breast. But by tilting her body back over the railing and twisting her head, everything works.

Dixie gymnastics

Dixie and I live in different parts of the country. I had a work trip near where she worked, and I managed to make ends meet, so I picked her up after work, and we drove on to an abandoned ferry mooring place right next to a beach.

I love to shoot in places where there are “things,” for lack of a better word, that the model can interact with, and this place had a few.

Fun fact: Dixie is 40+.

Sergeant Ice's castle

Last spring, I was in Padua and had the opportunity to shoot with Sergeant Ice outside an old castle. The main challenge here is that the place had a lot of high walls, which made the light come almost straight from above, so I had to adapt the model's position relative to that.

By shooting from below on the first image, I created a backlit situation which is always a winner, light-wise. I love the second image more, however. Her body looks like a marble statue.

In June, I made a trip to Mallorca with three models. We went there to shoot some great (and fun) images and did a sold-out two-day workshop there anyway.

I did (of course) shoot many fun videos to document both the shoots and what it's like to hang out with these incredible women - and really, people deserve to see how much fun it is to travel with open-minded (nudist) women.

Mallorca Torre Volger

About a month ago, I set up a workshop in Mallorca with Modeling with Louise, The Endless Sinner, and Wiana Model.

I made sure to have a couple extra days around the event to shoot with the girls. This is from the first day out and about at Torre Volger, an old watchtower. And the main point was to make sure everyone had fun and enjoyed themselves.

Setting a good mood when you have to spend prolonged time together is paramount.

Dixie transfixed

The sweet Dixie model (40+) is all tied up and enjoying every moment. They were all lit with a 57” zeppelin-deep umbrella with a diffuser screen.

I enjoy shooting images with an erotic feel as long as the models are comfortable doing it. And you can tell that DIxie is indeed.

What I remember best from this shoot pertains to the last image, where she was somewhat anxious about allowing me to shoot her from behind at a low angle, being worried that too much would be on the show or that her butt would look too big.

I asked her to trust me, which she definitively didn’t. 

I shot 10-15 images and showed her this.

She was transfixed, and there was complete trust and respect from then on.
