Suicide Booth

Quick update today, still busy getting ready for the release tomorrow. I've been busy mining enough code for NPCs. Altogether about 2,000 lines so far, of some pretty dense stuff with lots of math.

Sex {Objects}

This isn't an uncouth reference to women, it's a nerdy reference to programming!

I spent most of the day in the code mines, I clocked in about 9 hours before i realized it. The coding is easy; what makes it a challenge is creating distributions of variable values that makes up a "normal" population of people in Appletree. All in all, things are progressing quite nicely, though there's still a lot to do. NPCs are complicated creatures, after all!

Sneaking a Peek

I've been working on the NPC Generator a bit, generally working my way through creating a detailed character out of duct tape. (Don't worry, I'm using some fancy name-brand stuff.)

I did a boring live stream today. Actually, I thought it was pretty interesting stuff I worked on, but yeah, coding. I streamed for about 7 hours straight, with a few short breaks here and there. A Gem From the Code Mines

Mostly coding in JavaScript today, which is pretty nice. I really prefer it for code-type stuff over using twee inside a passage. However, It took a bit to readjust, I had to think to myself "oh right, I can do X again" XD

I want to mention real quick that the podcast idea in the survey isn't for a real podcast, just for 1-3 short segments talking about basic information about the game. Kind of a "why I'm doing X" sort of thing, rather than any new info.

Light Heresy Day

So today is Sunday in Guam Land. I did some coding on the NPCs in JavaScript, it's pretty neat so far. I spent a bit of extra time on it today because I had friends over last night for dinner and some board games. Also got to be the 'worst human' in Cards Against Humanity. ^-^

UPDATE: I've done a ton of Google Forms for work, so went through making the survey rather quickly. Unfortunately, I must've made a mistake somewhere, because when I took a look at it, I saw that some people were getting unintentionally forwarded to the middle of the "I don't understand Patreon" section, and everybody was bypassing some questions. So there's plenty to do before the next release, but nothing terribly exciting. It's mostly small tasks, and the rest are annoyingly-complex small tasks. All towards tying everything thus far into a working whole. On the bright side, when I'm done we'll have reached a point of open play. After the upcoming release, I'll be putting a little more time into the prologue story and mechanical elements. So the website is 90% up-and-running, and I can finally get back to the AW code mines. There's a bunch of little things to do to get ready for the prologue exit. I'm going to start with adding the code to the morning to get dressed before work. There are some connections to be made, and arriving home after work, and I want to get the downtown and Muschi Valley maps at least usable.
