Apma

Oh my goodness! April and Irma have stepped in some kind of mutagen that fuses them and their... outfit? Somehow?

EDIT: I just googled Irma to check the spelling of her surname and found out that she was a villain in the 2012 series and now I am sad. Teen April needs an awkward BFF too.

Angela’s making an incredibly weird face, but Winifred is looking fashionable as ever.

I’m No Doctor, But...

This is the best I can do today. I have ruined my back as detailed in the steps above, and I am now in constant, intense pain. Forty-one is not old enough for me to be falling apart this much.

Better Friends and Gardens

Raw scan of an epilogue. When Winifred is asked to help make honey for her recently bumblebee'd friend, this isn't what she had in mind!

Looks like Broom Angela May not have been very forthcoming about how many of her friends shared in her cleaning supply curse.

Ramona and Meg

Just playing around with chisel-tipped pens and markers. This is a regular occurence in our household. If Meg is one degree less than upright, our cat takes that as an invitation to leap onto her back. She usually --USUALLY-- lands pretty lightly.

Broom for Improvement

The latest Magic Lesson Epilogue. Angela has turned herself into a Witch’s Broom that wants to be flown. Naturally, a curse is in place that will turn her riders into any variety of cleaning supplies. Winifred has already been affected. Rosemary on the other hand knows that the only way to lift the curse is a steady regimen of non-magical use. Judging from the look on her face, resisting Angela’s cajoling will be a relatively easy task.

What happens when a fire cleric runs afoul of an enchanted doll? You get this one-page comic, which at the time of typing, I am coloring the hell out of.

Rock to School (bg only)

I drew this background layer because Rockabilly Winifred came out so well that I was afraid of screwing it up. I originally intended to put Win directly between the young manticore and giant snail, but she wasn’t enough of the focus. For the final edit (see my DeviantArt), I scaled her up and brought her more into the foreground. Maybe Underborough High classrooms stagger their desks. Anyway, here’s Corey and Unnamed Snail Whom I Draw When I Can’t Think of Monster Ideas.

I’m surprised that the polka dots came out as well as they did. Pencil shading around empty spaces, yay!

Rocking the Classroom

Winifred, despite her new look in the rockabilly epilogue, goes back to school. Now she proves to be a distraction for reasons other than talking constantly about world domination. This is a sketch for what will hopefully be a much better image where I can actually draw a pen. Yes, that's a pen dangling from Win's hand, not a brush or a wand or a stickbug with no legs.

Humanoid Guardian

WrenZephyr truly gave me a gift with that ancient guardian series, because it’s been giving me material all week! Here’s a bipedal version of Angela’s accidental misinterpretation of a summoning. I’d provide a link, but I’m posting from my phone today, and the app does weird things when I so much as use the return key. Check my previous posts or just go to Wren’s DeviantArt gallery (or the favorites on my DA page) to see the work this is based on.

Destroyer's Dispensation

Just because Winifred has become an all-powerful ancient Destroyer, it doesn't mean she cannot bestow gifts like her Guardian counterpart. (see link)

Unlike the Guardian, Winifred does not bother to scan her recipients' souls for silly things like fittingness or willingness. The recipient is honestly mo...

Winifear'd

Inspired by WrenZephyr's recent tale of Angela becoming vessel to an ancient guardian. https://www.deviantart.com/wrenzephyr2/art/GIFT-Guardian-Morgan-767947164

I'm not sure how she got this way. Maybe some sort of magical fallout. Perhaps some spirit inverse to the Guardian somehow clung to Winifred's desire to rule the world. Like Angela's new form, Winifred the Destroyer can spe...

Now That's What I Call an Adhesive Happenstance

Here's the raw scan of the epilogue involving Angela's highly contagious and clumsiness-inducing glue spell. The final version of this is pretty much full color as opposed to the usual epilogue treatment of a one- or two-tone wash. It really helps to make the whiteness of the rolling glue abomination stand out from the the environment.

Abigail's Misstep (b/w)

Other than the grey backdrop, this is how the original hand-drawn sequence looks. It was done on three separate pieces of 8.5x11 paper. At this point, I kept Winifred silent during the transformation, as I don't always like those to be too chatty. I think in an isolated TF sequence, I wouldn't have added words, but it works here because the sequence is bookended by panels with more dialogue. Winifred's extra lines also let the reader follow her mental state a little better than with her facial e...
