This one turned out to be far more interesting than I first thought. Two drum kits play in tandem - one without swing and one with swing. I've adapted it to the RD-8 by using the low tom and mid tom instead of a second kick and snare. A sample runthrough of the patterns and the song structure are also included!

We wanted to let you know that we finished writing the screenplay and recording the voiceover for Drum Machine 101 Episode 2. If everything goes well we can begin filming on the 21st of December. Certainly nothing special you might think... As simple as that CR-78 pattern might be, I haven't seen a completely accurate transcription of it before. But now the real kicker: I've arranged all acoustic drum parts for an 808. Phil Collins is now out of a job!

This is my drum pattern transcription in the style of "Madonna - Vogue". This is probably the biggest mainstream hit to ever feature the Roland TR-909. It borrows heavily from the House music scene that emerged in the 1980s.

Here's a sample pack we made from Behringer's new RD-6 drum machine. As you can see in our review of the Behringer RD-6 it sounds distinctly blue (transparent even). A hypnotic trap beat by Cardi B. Easy to reproduce on any drum machine with substeps or a double tempo multiplier. The Kick plays the bass line. It only consists of two notes, so it can be played live even without parameter automation - as long as you have a dial for the kick drum pitch.
