Something totally different

For the last few days I've been chipping away from simple, basic 3D models that I could add to an asset library and use as guides in arts; its fun to work on these, and they are also helping a lot to solidify the 'Odraani' (?) look .3.

Mind you, I don't know much about 3D modelling - more like, at all - so these models could make a real expert cry.

Will make more, just need to find ideas what could be added laters!

Exhaustion

... taking your time drinking the last sip of morning coffee before you set off for work.

Older pic I totes forgot to upload! I made this last October, where I got an urgent job to anim lead a big project. Was absolutely draining both physically and mentally - all nighters for almost two weeks - that wrecked me for well over a month. Was worth it though! x.x

Odraani Tanker

Odraani Tankers (Odrana Craskössanau) are under-represented and unappreciated members of the army. They do the dirty work of crushing resistance in hot zones on colony worlds.

Shore leave - coloured sketch

Wanted to do some colours, as it feels like I gotten rusty lately. Luckily I had a rough sketch laying around that was perfect for colouring ^^

Had this mini stream on the discord channel; didn't want to announce a big one as I'm not feeling ready yet, but hopes next time will be a big public stream!

Which Odraani soldier/role to do next

Enjoyed working on the bab for the last pic, would be fun to do more! Just can't decide which one to do next!

Odraani Trooper

Trooper! First full body pic of a regular trooper I think! 

Did some redesigns on them for a more sensible, rugged setup! Tons of pouches for ammo, energy cells, spare air, food paste and so on.

This lass is the standard kit; heavier setups add a lot more extra armour, external energy supplies for weapons and such.

Was a bit more time consuming to do this, but was fun to have a baseline for troopers! ^^

Tonks

Super random warmup from the other day ^^' Wanted to do some Odraani stuff - more to come - and felt like drawing some vehicles for them! The first two, a personnel carrier and a your everyday tank were lush starters, but felt they are too generic, soo went with a more random, unrealistic design!

Random angles, pointy noses, rounded hull, etc! May play around with them more, but this was fun ^^

Will have more stuff coming soon! Wanna colour the Helena diner one aand an action-ey ...

Shore leave

Despite what one would assume, the life on Scalló can be quite eventless; sometimes months pass between large tasks, and the ongoing security jobs can be done with shifting skeleton crews. The others can go on a well-earned shore leave; some go back to their native worlds to visit friends and family, some indulge in themselves in the big cities with the cash they got, while some just kick back and enjoy life for a little.

WHISPER on the move

WHISPER agents Elise and Yskra are on a mission to sabotage SHOUT operations by ... stealing/deflating all their boats. Such risky task is only for the most experienced divers!

Was a simple Elise sketch that grew into a bit bigger; had a random cameo from a patron as a second agent, as well as a bit more of an environment ^^

Also, this is a new version of the WHISPER suits; used on sneaky misions; Gotta say orange suits Elise well ^^

Been itching to draw a fantasy/Warhammer-inspired arts for a bit nao; Wanted to draw a more detailed, colourful picture of Elise, armed with a big shooter ^^ Since more fantasy arts were suggested; decided to finish this one ^^

Also a bit of a hint for her 'real' counterpart, wearing the colour of Stuttgart, where grew up.

Maintenance

Dhenzin setting up cable guides for replacing some anchor modules on a shallow water rig. Waters aren't always warm and welcoming on Vasma.

Sometimes not just the Scalló needs repairs or general upkeep, the the temporal research sites Odraani scientists set up; it's much cheaper to 'borrow' the experienced crew of a mercenary vessel than to ship in a bunch of greenhorns who doesn't know the waters, or locals, who aren't as familiar with Odraani tech ...

November Update

Heyo everyone;

I'm terribly sorry for the lack of any updates this month; been really hard to focus on art lately; since late September I am overworked and put under a lot of pressure and this eventually eroded my art mojo. I'm starting a lot of sketches only to stop at an early stage or end up unsatisfied with  most of them.

In the next few days I'll try to focus on the problem (stress, in general) to tackle the issue with the art block, and hopefully get back on track with ...

Helena

Wanted to tweak Helena's looks for a bit now; the direction her looks evolved into turned out to be a dead end as her features were too angular, disjointed and very far from the snake appearance.

Can't say I'm completely confident in this new iteration, but it definitely feels more solid, I tweaked her head scales, rounded her brows a bit and got rid of the massive cheekbones.

Pre-Dive

Eli n Aahnaye went for a dive at a lake nearby just before the weather turned cold; sort of a farewell to summer. ^^ 

Tried out a blur effect for some depth of field ... effect, something I haven't done really as I try to keep the look ""traditional"" but for a sketch, it's fine ^^'

Sorry I've been away for two weeks; the animation job was extremely exhausting, and needed some recovery time.

Surveying

Atiot*  Luminainen Nivaria, member of the KwagofrontlEgzig** is on the surface of a rigid moon surveying land where to establish a forward climate monitor station; the atmosphere is suitable for minor terraforming, allowing more hospitable conditions for a future mining and industrial colony. Will take time and be quite expensive, but the in the long run, it's a good investment for the Odraani!

Was a suggestion for a cold-themed Odraani pic, as well as a little gift art for helping...

Tank Filling

Patiently waiting for the slow, old compressor to wind up, Equipment Technician Dau is listening to to some chill tracks to kill time. Not really following the regulations of his past Odraani technician training, but nobody will call reprehend him for it on the Scalló

Dau is from the same species as Helena, which considering the size of the Odraani is quite rare; however, coming from a different culture, they don't get along as well as one would imagine; he is very reserve...

Odraani Spaceships

Odraani space vessels are characteristically bulky, over-armoured with bigger ships being submarine-like. They do not have any windows, not even on the fighters, as they present a massive weak spot on the hulls, instead, ships are equipped with countless sensors and camera feeds for the crew.

Pet peeves

Odraani mechanics are hardy people; having to deal with overcomplicated designs, cramped spaces, unmaintainable systems, and overtimes. They rarely complain though; the pay is solid, its easy to find employment, and you are unaffected by the squabbles of the commanding officers.

Only one thing makes them loose their cool; makeshift, undocumented repairs by other crew members.

Wanted to draw an Odraani mechanic in full kit for a bit + another scalie guy, tho this one tur...
