Despite the business of the holiday season, i managed to put together a cute little cozy piece of the dorks to celebrate the holidays!
It's actually a scrapped Halloween piece where i was going to have them just stay at home and enjoy the spooky evening together, but all i got done was a cute Magna in a cow onesie, so i figured i'd reuse it as a "wearing their gifts to each other" piece!
That's why you can see Leo's bulge. Only clothes that he summons cover up his package! Normal...

After a few months of tweaking, i've finally settled on these designs for Magnas friends! Hopefully we'll be seeing them soon in more group outing scenarios!
Though i'm still a little bit on the fence about Naomi (or Minnie's) name.
I like the name Naomi a lot, and the gag of her being called Minnie because she's the shortest is always fun, but the name just doesn't quite suit her. If you've got any suggestions, please let me know!

A double whammy! Felt like this particular gag needed to be a bit longer than the usual 4 panels.
Leo doesn't do too well with modern media, but every so often something comes along that rekindles that little spark in his old toony heart.

Finally got around to making a cover piece for last years No Nut November comic!
Should be releasing sometime next month, but i still wanted to give you guys a sneak peek at the cover!
Though now i kinda wish the comic itself contained an anthropomorphic evil calendar.. ah well, maybe next year~
it's always fun for me to think about "what if Leo was anatomically correct" scenarios, so i figured he could totally just use a prop Halloween decoration skeleton as a real one!
Even though he DOES technically have a skeleton. it's just all stretch and what not.
Toon logic, y'know how it is!
Phew! After fighting a bit of cramping, i managed to get this final piece done and ready! Thus completing the vaguely Halloween themed costume poll!
Thank you to everyone who voted and for sticking around! These did slow down my general productively a bit since, well, they took most of my time, but i had a ton of fun with these!
Hope you've all had a lovely October so far! I'm gonna try to get a bit more stuff done before the month ends! But for now, i need to rest my wrist.
in the same vein as the Animal Crossing set, i chose to just design Magna and Leo around the concept of being inklings rather than have them dress up as any of the actual agents! Mostly because, i'm rather new to Splatoon, and don't know my way around the franchise all that well.
Still, i had a lot of fun playing around with colors and designs, and using the inkling alphabet made for a lot of fun little sneaky Easter eggs!
Now then, on to the final crossover piece!

I have made the GRAVE mistake of introducing Leo's car into this comic. and let me tell you, cars are NOT easy to draw for me. Had to pull up SO many dang references, goodness me.
It's gonna be a challenge, but the two love birds are officially going on a date! They're gonna get to know each other for a bit, be a little lovey-dovey, maybe a little sappy, and then, we'll see where things go from there!

Rouge and Knuckles seemed like a pretty good pairing for the two dorks, and i had a lot of fun with their designs, particularly swapping around between anthropomorphizing Magna as more Bat-like in some of the panels, just for funsies!
Anyway, i hope you enjoy some emerald stealing shenanigans along with some old memes. Next month we're gonna wrap it up with the final two tiers and hopefully move on to some more spook-themed art!

Really, i should have known that Animal Crossing would be first, considering you guys are already familiar with my Animal Crossing art, haha!
So here's a couple cute ideas i cooked up! I wanted to design Leo and Magna as both human villagers AND animal villagers! I knew Magna would be a bear from the start, but with Leo, i was unsure whether to go with a Frog or a Dog villager! Ultimately though, the canine won my heart. Those fluffy ears are just too darn cute!

So, October is just around the corner, so it's time we start preparing some costume related pieces! Much like last year, Leo and Magna will be dressing up as some of your favorite characters from popular franchises!

Again, i'd like to apologize for how slow these are coming out. Summer depression seems to be hitting me hard, and it's really difficult to come up with funny faces and jokes when you're just not feeling right. But i'm trying to push through!

Sorry for the lack of content folks! Feeling a bit under the weather recently and haven't been in the best mind state to make content, but i think i'm pulling myself out of this rut!
I went back and changed a couple panels for the remake. Trying to keep things more character accurate without having to retcon too much of what's mentioned in other chapters!
So far, i'm much happier with this direction! Magna is a lot more sympathetic while still being the mean girl we all know and...
Learning how your toon boyfriend work will do wonders to his self-esteem!

still, i felt that it fit the dynamic!
So, chapter one was released around this time, about, 2 years.
and 2 years is a long time. a long enough time for two hastily put together characters to develop into so much more, and i felt that chapter 1 should reflect them better!
i might still try to multitask and squeeze another short comic in the meantime, but i think that for the majority of the remainder of the year, i'm going to work on rebooting ( and retconning ) how our buddies Leo and Magna met! Gonna give it a bit more...
Since it's been nearly a year since i made this SideQuest Together chapter, i figured it was due for a cover, since it'll be up publicly soon!
