I have been catching up on the Toaru/Raildex franchise these past two weeks or so. It's been years, so I was very surprised to learn the novels are still ongoing. 50+ main series books + all the spin-offs is a hell of a thing.

Can you believe it has not even been a year in-universe? It's actually closer to six months. The Toaru timeline is crazy, even more so when one counts spin-offs, which go "Yeah, turns out the protagonist from the main series lost an arm and regrew it in this one ...

As much as I am always in favor of the merciless march of progress, I cannot help but be saddened we're just repackaging a regular telemarketing scam. It's just a waste of potential, though I wonder if all those scam telemarketing call centers are protesting about being replaced by bots.
