"Hi, I'm back!" I announced my entrance as usual as I reappeared in the classroom. By this point Judy was used to my Phasing antics, as she barely batted an eye at my sudden arrival.
"It took a…" she began, only to abruptly stop her sentence as she looked me over. "Where's the tracksuit?"
"Oh, that?" I glanced down and shook my arms a little. "I figured I should get rid of any possible physical evidence ASAP, so I hopped over to the secret base and asked Karukk to dispose ...

It was a beautiful morning. I had a nice, refreshing shower, brushed my teeth, had a great, healthy breakfast prepared by my adorable maidster, and then we both got ready for yet another pleasant and completely uneventful day at school. Then I opened the front door.
"Hello, fellow human," I was greeted by Judy… as she grinned at me. Like, it was an actual, honest to goodness sunny smile, teeth showing at all. It was weird.
"Um… Morning, Dormouse. Are you all right?"

"We arrived," the class rep solemnly declared as she stopped in front of the familiar basement entrance by the side of the main school building. Classes were already over for a while, and most of the placeholders already left the school grounds, save for the couple of them having their club meetings, like the sports club members hyping themselves up on the nearby tennis court. They couldn't see the two of us due to the picket-fence between the main grounds and the sports field, but I could st...

"I must disagree with the assessment of my esteemed colleague," stated a certain annoying placeholder by my side. "The chart says that Mrs. Applebottom's stocks among the male populace show a steady increase regardless of outside factors."
"Humbug!" Mr. Spiky dismissed his bowl-cut haired… friend? Were they friends? Did I even care?
"As we are all aware, the maximum amount of popularity among the eligible boys within our school is a finite resource," Mr. Bedhair added whil...

Hello, Dear Readers!
To put it short, I just got over a nice little case of pneumonia. My fever's finally gone, and I can now speak two sentences without coughing my lungs out, so life's getting a little bit more tolerable as of late. I'm planning on getting back to writing (as, surprise-surprise, being completely knocked out on medication was not exactly good for my creative urges), so expect a proper chapter update sometime soon-ish.
That's all for now, I just wanted to le...

"It's been a while," I whispered under my breath and stretched my back under the sunny, if not particularly warm, autumn sky.
"What's been a while?" Judy inquired without looking up from the lunchbox she was unpacking at the moment, so I told her:
"Since the last time we had lunch on the school rooftop like this."
"That's true. You have been on sick leave a lot lately." There was just a tiny bit of edge to her words, but I decided to ignore it and instead I sidled closer to ...

"Are you sure you won't be staying over for dinner?" my draconic girlfriend asked me with upturned eyes, which, while admittedly pretty cute, was still not enough to change my mind.
"I told you I can't. I still have to meet with Mountain Girl and explain to her the plan. Also, pay attention while walking."
"I don't have to, I'm already holding onto you," Elly declared while he simultaneously squeezed my upper arm even harder. "Not to mention, even if I stumbled, you would catch me...

Okay, dear readers, here's the deal: I was sent home from work early because I was coughing so much I was driving everyone in the office insane, and when I got home, sick, sleep-deprived, and just generally feeling like crap, I was welcomed by the The Simulacrum dropping by more than ten ranks on RoyalRoad because of one guy writing one single negative review. I might not exactly be in the right mindset for this, but fuck it, I don't care at the moment, so:

"Hold on, I need to sit down for a moment," I muttered between two hoarse breaths, and my ever-so-mindful (if at the moment slightly overbearing) girlfriends grabbed hold of my arms like clockwork. I gave each of them a wry look in turn and tried gently shook them off, to little apparent success. "I'm not going to collapse, I'm just a little woozy."
They didn't seem to care about what I was saying, as they proceeded to drag me over to the nearest chair in the so-called 'reception ar...

"Aaaaand I'm back," I announced my arrival and immediately plopped myself into one of the spare chairs in my kitchen.
"Oh." Judy froze up for a moment to process my sudden appearance, but then she casually picked up the ladle at her side and greeted me with a cautious, "Welcome back. How did they take the news?"
"Too well," I much less told than groaned the answer, which earned me a skeptical look from her.
"How can someone take bad news too well?" she asked the obvious ques...

"All right. Preparations are complete," I declared as I dramatically rubbed my palms together. I was currently situated in the living room in the company of Judy and, for a change, I wasn't sitting on my favorite comfy chair but the sofa. It was mainly so that she could sit next to me, since the previous arrangement of her sitting on my lap, while really cozy, was not exactly conducive to our current activity. Once I felt suitably prepared, I picked up the bric...

The famous Bazar of the North definitely lived up to its reputation. Every visitor entering the city through the main gates was greeted by a seemingly endless cavalcade of tents, stalls, and even just simple peddlers selling their wares on colorful carpets laid out on the bare pavement.
Between these little islands, a roiling sea of people churned without end, led by the currents of need and curiosity; their numbers would have made even the most casual observer wonder just how so ...

"Please, stop," I pleaded to her with my palms raised. "It's cold out here, I'm having a migraine, and I just want to go home. I promise I will hunt with you once I feel better, s...

"It's smaller than I expected," I mused as I looked at the neat white line on the right side of Emese's lower back, just under the kidneys. At the moment she was standing with the help of her husband, and she looked supremely embarrassed, probably because of the way her pants were pulled down a little so that I could take a good look at her scar while I was crouching behind her.
After observing her already healed wound for a moment, I asked, "Does it st...

In retrospect, my question came out just a bit more sheepishly than I originally intended, but before I could correct my tone, my request was rebuffed with the bluntness of the business end of a war hammer.
"Denied," Judy rebuked me on no uncertain terms, and I couldn't help but groan in disappointment.
"Are you sure we can't let him in?" my second girlfriend edged the first in my favor. "He looks so sad to be left out."

"I'm back," I announced my return to the living room with those half-hearted words, and I found the class rep exactly where I left her. On a slightly more interesting note, my little maidster came back while I was in the entryway, and now she was happily discussing something with her. Said discussion immediately stopped the moment a set foot within the room, with the tag-end I could barely catch being something about how someone was 'really goofy'. I gues...

Hello, my dear readers.
So, since my sinus infection refused to go away, I had to go to the hospital. It turns out, unbeknownst to me I have some nasty nasal polyps that obstruct the channels in my nasal cavity that would allow for the bad stuff to empty out of my face, and so I keep getting re-infenced. So yeah, I will have to go get a CT done, then it will require surgery as well.
Oh, and here's the kicker: while the doctor was examining me, he noted that I had a suspiciou...

Hello, dear readers.
I'll be short here: for the past week, I have been suffering from a pretty terrible sinus infection that only just started to die down a little. Worse yet, I have a ton of paperwork I have to finish on a deadline by the end of the month, so for the past couple of days I have been literally lying in my bed, under several layers of blankets, and filling out nursing care plans.
In other words, I am sorry to say, but the next chapter is probably going to be dela...

How could I best describe the sense of tension enveloping my living room at the moment? 'Palpable' sounded about right, but I felt it just wasn't quite 'meaty' enough. 'Oppressive', on the other hand, was just a little too strong. It was, if I may dare to be poetic for a moment, like the kind of tension emanated by a single bunny dropped into a pen filled with a whole brood of hungry snakes.
Speaking of which, our bunny for the night awkwardly glanced around for what felt like the hundr...

I had to admit, the nightscape of Timaeus certainly had its charm. The public park, in particular, was especially scenic with the combination of moonlight and the evenly placed streetlights illuminating the walkways under the autumn leaves, with the cobbling giving them that extra layer of old-world class. I would even go as far as to call the environment romantic in a quiet, introspective sense of the word, so I immediately made a mental note about taking Judy and Elly out for a stroll here ...

"It's about time," I thought aloud as I interlinked my fingers and stretched my arms over my head. I have no idea why that felt so satisfying, but it did, so I did it a second time, just for good measure. Once the blood rush died down a little, I shook my hands and quickly closed my useless browser tabs of the Celestial Hub.
I was actually still a little miffed about that. I spend several long hours browsing the hub and interviewing the regulars, and after all that, I had to close my in...

It was so that Snowy could easily move around while she was taking care of me.
Speaking of which, I let out another soft groan, which made my maid... or little sister… let's go with 'maidster'. Anyhow, it made her twitch in apprehension, but I gestured for her not to...

Hello dear readers.
Well, my plan to keep the schedule didn't last long, did it?
The saddest part is that I already completed the actual chapter today at work, as I was on duty for no other reason than because "someone" had to be on duty on the weekend, even if it's the holiday week and literally nothing happened. So, after fulfilling my necessary obligations in the wards, I nested myself into my office and spent the better part of my day writing (nobody cared, none of my bosses...

Putting my impromptu wordsmithery aside for a moment, I took a deep breath and explained to him, "I think I figured out your plan."

I reappeared on the rooftop and quickly dashed over to the closest bench and more or less fell onto it butt first in my hurry. Once I was seated, I hastily put the silver briefcase onto my lap, opened it up, removed one of the morphers and raised it to my eye level with a suitably profound expression forced onto my face. My setup was done not a second too soon, as a mere moment later the access door opened up and Amelia stepped into the open with a disapproving expression.
