Alright, so LAST week was supposed to be Matthew's review of a penis toy and then THIS week would be another installment of Ask a Porn Star (which you saw the layout for yesterday), but then I had to post a guest comic last week instead. I figured we'd just do the Porn Star comic next and the the penis toy after that, but Matt said that'd throw off the balance of the rest of our schedule, so we're doing penis comic next week and then Porn Star after.

- Got a quote from my printer for getting French Flaps on the book (It's only about $200ish bucks more than non-french-flapped!) 

-Sent more pages to my book designer 

-Sent a take down notice to a giant site that is making ad revenue while they display an uncredited crop from my comic (It feels like screaming at the rain trying to do anything about uncredited crops of my work being distributed :-/ And yet, scream I do) 

-Got a fresh scrip...

This shoulda been an easy day-- I had the final page of the comic to ink and then all I had to do was start coloring. But I let myself get really distracted? I'm not even sure with what. All I know is that I finished inking the page and I've only put in the background colors and now it's time to go home? Bwah? What did I do with the day??? I DON'T EVEN KNOW. 

I will say that I had a delightful surprise while I was inking and listening to episode #44 of That Thing You Like and then Denea C...

Three outta four pages inked! 

I was slowed down this morning because I was re-doing my receipt folder system, so I can write off all my expenses at the end of the year. If I stayed at the studio another hour or two I'd get that fourth page inked but Matt's telling me to come home and have dinner so what can I do. HUSBANDS, AMIRITE?

Penciling/inking today! 

It was a bit slow going, I didn't like any of the lines I was putting down, harumph. 

And then I realized I'd done all of my ink work using a fuzzy brush, so I gotta go over those lines again tomorrow with a hard edge brush so they'll reproduce properly when it comes time to print them in the book.

Ah, the glamor of being a cartoonist. 

Today was spent on bookkeeping, tax stuff, book preparation stuff, booking tickets to travel to comic conventions and university speaking gigs, and general busy work that you have to do when you run your own business.

Yesterday and the day before were spent doing administrative business stuff (and getting trapped downtown overnight because of the snow storm) and today I've been preparing comic pages to be included in the OJST book. 

I've got a printer lined up and I'm working with Allyson Haller as a book designer because she did such an amazing job on Bucko, my book that was written by Jeff Parker and published by Dark Horse Comics in 2012.

So I stayed home from the office in attempt to prevent getting For Reals Sick and spent the day laying out the comic, which means taking the text from the script and positioning it in my page templates in Photoshop. 

But... 

The feeling of the comic was "off"
The dialogue felt very awkward and I was having some real trubs imagining the visual flow of the piece. 

It was half an educational comic about how to use cock rings and half a review of FOUR different rings...

Normally on Tuesdays I would be wrapping up laying out the comic in its template and starting to pencil it, but yesterday and today I've been feeling under the weather so I'm moving at a snail's pace and am still, embarrassingly enough, editing the script :-/
