There was some pretty good tension built up in this one. Sylvie’s character is somewhat of a enigma because she simultaneously doesn’t care and wants revenge, and also wants to save everyone. Her story in this episode was an interesting one. We get a variant Kang and the reveal was even better than the post credit. The ending hints that things are going to change drastically from here on out, so we’ll have to wait and see what’s in store for us.

This is new to most of us here. The first episode introduces us to Percy and his world quite effortlessly. After establishing our protagonist’s backstory, we dive headfirst into the plot. The creators have laid solid groundwork for the story so that the tale can unfold without a hitch.

Once again Chernobyl delivers a very well-written and tense episode. If this is a first watch for you Seeing Pavel and the others going door to door and removing animals was an incredibly tough watch and contrasted beautifully with the heart-pounding segment on the roof. The abundance of long shots and the ominous musical score underlines the seriousness and bleak reality of the situation.

Once again Chernobyl delivers a beautifully written and haunting hour of television. The gritty situation mixed with the attention to detail make Chernobyl a realistic depiction of what happened in this disaster. The cinematography is beautifully orchestrated too, with plenty of long shots lingering uncomfortably on certain scenes, especially those including the firemen in hospital. What an episode this was!
