Banana Shortcake 6-06: PSD

 I'm actually kind of surprised that Leela's face is one of the easier ones to convey emotions well with. I thought the one-eye thing would make her harder to work with, but honestly it's very expressive so it helps a lot. The Amazons are actually a bit harder to work with, but I think it's still overall going well, and it's fun to work on something different like this.

I hope that everyone recognizes the cake from the first page of this chapter. I'm also still enjoying writing for Cassandra. She's interesting to write for because she's pretty realistically a bad person. Like, she's not cartoonishly evil or anything, but she's self-centered and judgmental in a way that would be infuriating to deal with in real life. She basically came into existence in the comic in order to have a character who would be a nightmare to put up with as a customer.

For some reason, I thought I had already done a bio for Lisette. To be honest I hadn't thought too much about her backstory prior to this, but thinking about her attitude mixed with her sense of fashion, it just made sense to me that she would be a party girl who's learning to be more responsible. Pages like this are a bit interesting because i feel like they really highlight the difference in writing/layout between me and Shotred.  I would virtually never do a page with 4 panels focusing on a hand job like that, but it's also a sequence that a lot of readers will enjoy. With erotic comics that still have a story it can be hard to balance how much to slow things down and focus on the erotic details versus moving the story forward.  I was talking to a friend about dating, and I mentioned that I had met my wife online, and since she drew porn for a living I could be more comfortable with her about stuff like sex. That also got me thinking about the readers of this comic... if someone hooked up because they met in the comments section of my comic, they'd probably be a step ahead for their relationship since they'd at least know ahead of time that they at least share a few fetishes that would probably be awkward to bring...

I really liked working on this page because I think it really shows off what I like about Jenna as a character. She's sweet, caring and Motherly, and is also effortlessly sexy without even realizing it.

You can see some of the client's particular fetishes really standing out in this, with her ultra-thick milk and veiny nipples, which is different from how I draw Amber normally. Overall, though, I'm pretty happy with how this one came out. The black leather was particularly fun to figure out.

It's hard to keep track of all the characters in a 4-way like this, which is why I rarely do them in the comic. I think threesomes are my general preference... I admire the artists who draw giant orgy scenes, but there's no way I could do something like that in the comic and actually keep up my schedule.
