I Can't Lose For Winnin'

Pound Cake and Rumble bonded when they were pitted against each other for sparring in the boxing ring.  Mutual admiration of the sport lead to mutual admiration of each other.  :)

Pound is a latent pegasus (his maternal grandfather sharing his breed), so he has smaller wings than usual.  They still aren't as small as most latent wings, and he is strong enough to stay airborne for short periods.

Happy To Be Stuck With You

Franzie was teasing Zesty about the latter's old flame (see the pic below).  Don't get all upset, Big Z, Foto loves you!  She just also loves to see you puff up and bluster, hehe.

Zesty's First Love

This little pegasus is Storm Gazer, who went to college with Zesty for a year and was her first girlfriend.  Zesty was never one for relationships, so she was surprised when she found herself falling hard and fast for her little friend, whom she nicknamed "Gulper" for her love of coffee (and that's the ONLY reason, Franzie!).  They parted after a year because Gulper dropped out of the culinary program, but Zesty retains fond memories.

The Queen and I

Finally nailed down my design for Queen Chrysalis!  Liz has a lot of backstory for her and the Changelings so do expect great things.  It is worth noting that we don't do the shiny Changelings in JG.  Also worth noting is the fact that you won't see Chrysalis in her true form very often, because she is very, very hard to draw.

Oh, and GlimGlam and the Queen are far from enemies.  Chryssie is best bugmom!

It Don't Run In Our Blood

Introducing my and Liz's interpretations of the rulers of the Crystal Empire, Princesses Cadance and Flurry Heart and the Prince Consort Shining Armor!

Right off the bat you will notice that Cady and Flurry are NOT Alicorns. In the JG continuum, there are only three Alicorns in existence, and it ain't easy to get that way.  Also, in being consistent with my designs for breed dimorphism, Shining has a strong swimmer's build as opposed to a massive earth pony barrel chest.

Zecora

Liz and I are working on Zecora's part in JG, so I needed to do some concept art, not only for the zebra herself but JG zebras in general.  Like donkeys, they have their own physiology that differentiates them from ponies, mostly insofar as they're more severely digitigrade. 

She's got a lot of scars because she lives in the Everfree, aka the place where ponies go to die.  Don't go in the Everfree, and don't mess with Zecora.

Rare Moments of Tranquility

Plaid promised Mr. Cumin that she would somehow get Saffron to relax for at least a few minutes a day, in the best interest of his future granddaughter.  I don't know how Plaid encouraged her very type-A wife to chill, but she and Northern are happy for the rare moments of tranquility, whenever they can get them.  :)
