In the morning, a letter from the capital reached Marissa's office. It was from Count Evesys, requesting the return of Rebecca and her companions to Evesys House. Marissa promptly called her new knights to discuss the situation.
"Rebecca, I've received a letter from Evesys House asking for your return, and they want your friends to accompany you. What do you think? Oh, and where's Nana?"
"Are you going to hand us over?" Cecile asked, concerned. "Nana's at home. I think she caught ...

[You have leveled up to level 10]
[Choose an upgrade:
Poison Injection
Water Storage
Oxygen Storage]
Hiro leveled up after what happened yesterday with Cecile and Nana. Looking at the options, he chose Oxygen Storage. He considered Poison Injection, which could be helpful in combat, but he didn't want to risk contaminating animals which might be eaten by his group or sold later. So, He chose Oxygen Storage so his girls could survive in case of poison gas.

“Well, well, I wish you luck with the eggs. By the way, these are magic beasts or monsters. So, they’ll need mana. I didn’t mention it before since both of you are mages. It shouldn’t be an issue.”
“Magic beasts?” Alicia tilted her head. Somewhere in the deep recesses of her mind, she vaguely recalled the existence of monsters that Sistielle had mentioned.
If she couldn’t remember it, it probably wasn’t important. That’s what Alicia thought. That's the limit of...

“Anne!” Alicia waved toward Anne, who sulked near a wooden house. The girl turned toward Alicia, clearly annoyed.
“...What do you want?” Anne scowled.
“Why the long face, Anne?” Alicia asked as she skipped toward her.
“Well, unlike you, I’m not a mage. My parents refused to hire a tutor for me. Must be nice being a mage, huh? You’re poorer than me, but even the Lord herself fancies you.” Anne’s words were laced with venom as she ridiculed Alicia....

James looked at the jungle before him. He then turned to his soldiers.
“Here. I gave you ten bullets and a dozen arrows. You may use them if you see an enemy. If you got a bow skill and coins, upgrade it to level 5 to get a weapon skill,” James said.
“Nobody goes anywhere alone, except me.” James paused for a moment before correcting himself, “If you want to survive, that is. I don't really care if you wander alone.”
James didn't want to appear too demanding....

[Available body parts:
Lizardman’s Scales (Physical Resistance +10%) (Skin Slot)]
James ignored the Chimera skill because his current body parts were better than the lizardmen that lay dead before him. The soldiers scavenged the lizardman's body, trying to find anything of value. But except for its mediocre spear, there was nothing to plunder. This lizard was basically naked, after all.

Dawn arrived. However, the army didn’t form ranks. Marissa and the general sighed in relief—they wouldn’t have to fight today.
“Can Hiro heal more soldiers?” the general asked. But healing required nutrients. While the supply was secure, it didn’t mean they had an abundance. So Hiro only tended to the most gravely injured.
“Erm… he seemed reluctant,” Rebecca and the others said. However, since Hiro couldn’t speak, they could only guess his reasons. Lucki...

“Here we are—Newstar,” Jonathan said.
“Welcome to Newstar, Miss Lily!” a receptionist greeted us with a wide, practiced smile. She stood up from her chair and began leading us down the corridor.
I tilted my head. At Shirayuki, a receptionist was expected to stay glued to her chair at all times in case someone arrived. If someone needed to be guided, another employee would be summoned. Seeing the reception desk completely empty filled me with unease.
But such...

Today was a rest day. Alicia didn’t have anything to do. She could’ve simply lazed around in bed, but without computer games to keep her busy, boredom set in fast. So, she skulked around the gate.
The reason she did this was because she was forbidden to do it. She was supposed to stay inside the mansion until she was at least fifteen years old—when she would be officially inducted into the Shadowstep military. Nevertheless, the rebellious Alicia decided to sneak out. She wa...

“Eli, Alicia, from this day onward, you will study magic for a full month,” Count Shadowstep said as he summoned both of them to his office.
“Really? I thought we’d only start next week!” Eli beamed at the news.
“Well, the capital is eager to finally have another high-ranking mage. So, they’ve hastened your schedule, luckily, we have a mage in our land that fits the criteria to teach. It would do our county wonders if you two can start recharging arcane stones...

At dawn, an army began to rally a few hundred meters from Quantora Village. They didn’t bother hiding themselves, so Quantora’s soldiers immediately sounded the alarm. Troops gathered and manned the walls within minutes—they had finished preparing before the Latvin soldiers had even completed forming their ranks.
Cecile and the others were also gathered. Despite the disciplined formation, whispers of fear spread from left to right. Litmus’ soldiers were trained but lacked...

I teleported to one of my mana eyes inside the school building. The world spun violently as I was thrown into the student council’s room.
“Gah!” I groaned, clutching my stomach as nausea overwhelmed me. “I shouldn’t have eaten that steak…”

“Yeah! It’s all Jonathan’s fault!” my clones cheered in unison.

When the government said warehouse, they didn't mean a single warehouse. They meant a warehouse district near the ports. Once again, James, who was merely an ignorant civilian, didn't know such things.
“Hm… this district was not taken by a single dungeon.” James read the paper handed to him by an official. A group of twenty soldiers in military uniform stood at attention.
“Yes. We would love for you to conquer the whole region—especially the ports. This d...

James kinda knew there were others that raided dungeons, but he didn’t know they formed guilds. He thought they would only form teams like him with Sanders and Kouki. He was correct—most survivors did just that. Only a few had gone all the way to establish their own guilds in their own countries, and these guilds had a connection with the main guild where James came from.
The countries also didn't support more than one such guilds. they merely created it for national prestige.

Hiro was alert. He didn’t need to sleep, but when his host slept, his senses were limited to his tentacle. Fortunately, thanks to his metamorphic ability, he could regenerate an eye within the tentacle to scout his surroundings.
His appearance resembled something straight out of a Lovecraftian novel—an eyeball protruding from a writhing tentacle.
Since nobody was approaching, he could only stare off at the empty hallway, swinging his tentacle left and right like a security cam...

Alicia woke up in a white room.
Before her sat a goddess. Her goddess, Sistielle, maybe. (She didn't actually worship her; she was just leeching off her blessings.)
Golden hair flowed from the goddess’s head down past her hips. Her bountiful breasts, cupped together by a pristine white dress, rose gently with each breath as she sat in a glowing chair across from Alicia.
“Goddess Sistielle! How are you?” Alicia stood, then quickly sat down on the opposing chair.

The guild owned the whole floor. At the lobby, many people were lounging around, playing games on the sofa. A beautiful girl acted as a receptionist. With respect, she bowed toward James.
“Please come this way, Mr. James. We have been waiting for you.” She then led James to his room. It was barely a walk—literally the first room after the lobby.

“I see. Thank you for the information. It is regrettable that we can’t obtain the dungeon core. Was there any clue inside the dungeon? Why did it do that?”

Eli tiptoed out of her chambers and into the hallway.
She had little experience sneaking around luxury manors like this.
Her time as a child soldier had mostly taught her how to maneuver through towns or deserts—evading artillery strikes or assassinating American soldiers. Her later experience as a U.S. assassin wasn’t much help either.
Back then, she was trained to pander to others—acting meek and obedient before slipping deadly poison into an unsuspecting target. Sti...

None even complained about the mechanical raptor James had. James noticed it was weird, but he dismissed it as system intervention. It was just like in games—even when you went naked or wore a clown suit, none of the NPCs even talked about it. He often dropped his leather bag and none of the monsters or animals even came near it.
