Been working a bit on melee and stealth.
Regarding stealth, I've customized monsters with more realistic fields of view and viewing distances. Nothing too stringent, but still, it's notable in some places (for example Crawlers have a narrower field of view, while Cerberi can see way over 180 degrees due to their side heads. In similar fashion, Initiates have a slightly more restrained FOV because they are hooded, while Cultists and Conscripts retain a normal human's 180 degree FOV; Iron Maiden...

So I've been tinkering with the Spike Gun a bit, and for once I've brushed up and updated its' sounds a bit. Nothing too critical, just some slight improvements of the fire and spike-hit sounds.
Apart from that, however, I also introduced a new visual feature to the gun - shooting it now creates puffs of steam in the world (not just on the HUD graphic) which gives it a hotter feel to go along the gleaming spikes. Also, if shot for a sustained period of time, the barrel heats up and ...

So now that Hedon is standalone, I thought I'd make a video to show I haven't forgotten about my old intention of keeping a "mod" version of Hedon to be played with Doom or other peoples' maps.
Here's a quick test run I've made, clearly I'll have to put some extra work in gameplay compatibility but that's another story for another time, far far away from the present. :^)

Here it is. Errant Signal. Only complete test plays left to be done, then I'll drop you the download for it.
I'm pretty happy with how it came out, and judging from my lack of screenshots and other spoilers, there's a lot of stuff going down here.
Also, this is a relatively linear map, which is not a very retro thing to do, but still, it's perfectly justified by how the level will play out.

Here's the Warlock sprite sheet. At last. A relatively simple to animate monster, but quite damn detailed, and pretty much took me my entire Easter Holiday and beyond to put together.
I've just finished working on her sound effects, and can say that she is pretty much fully fledged and good to go. Of course, she's prone to future testing and balance tweaks as pretty much everything else.
