Second part of this art journal series focused on clothes.
There are 3 main forces I consider when drawing drapery:
1. Gravity
2. Pull
3. Push or action
In the sheet I put examples of each and some notes in how they all 3 interact. The stronger the forces and interaction the more visible the fold lines they'll create.

A quick reference example of a basic structure for anthro characters (male and digitigrade in this example). Usually this construction is after a super basic gesture sketch.
6.5 heads is approximated the canon I use for these, it can vary on personal style or character though.
