HistoryMarche - 2 Hour Documentary - The Battle of Rome
Despite his vows, Otto eventually had to pull back.
The reason for doing so was due to faulty intelligence at the time. Word had just finally reached him that another Roman army had landed in Italy, which meant extra reinforcements for Constantine the Younger. His marshals and commanders wanted to take a punitive force south to ambush the second Roman army but Otto did not want to...

The locker closed with a click.
To say that she had a good nights rest wasn't exactly accurate. She got mobbed by people who wanted her autograph or even invitations to team up. She made no exact promises but the shadow of expectation was upon her. Not even a few seconds to waking up and she had a few walk up, all but trying to get her to agree to team up with them.
"Soooo, Pyrrha, have you given any thought to whose team you would like to be on?"
Pyrrha turned to ...

Cries of pain hovered in the air.
Otto walked amongst his men, his boots crunching over blood-soaked earth. The stench of charred flesh and burned grain clung to the wind, mingling with the acrid tang of smoke. A soldier, his face pale and twisted in agony, reached out weakly as Otto passed. His leg was gone, hastily bandaged with strips of blood-soaked cloth. Otto paused, his gauntleted hand curling into a fist at his side. He wanted to offer comfort, to say something that w...

Fire flickered.
Roy Fernandez leaned closer to the altar, his aged hands steady as they lit the candles. The small flame illuminated the crucifix, the picture frames, and the keepsakes carefully arranged before him; mementos salvaged from a world long gone. Smiling faces from the old days gazed back at him. Roy's gaze lingered on one photo in particular: a much younger version of himself and his wife, leaning casually against the hood of a jeepney, a small, grinning child sea...

Birds chirped, the sun glimmered high above, and horns from trains blared. Workers in overalls and high-visibility vests moved purposefully between the massive SDC cargo freighters, their boots crunching over gravel and steel. Two workers paused to...

The two slipped into the hall just as the Headmaster began his speech, Ruby glancing back at Jaune briefly before murmuring, "I'm gonna go find my sister. See you later, Jaune!"
Jaune blinked, watching as she darted into the crowd. "Yeah…see ya," he said softly, scratching the back of his head. He sighed. Well, there goes that. Where else am I gonna find another nice, quirky girl to talk to?
He sat in silence for a moment before glancing at the air beside him....

Heavy breaths greeted Constantine.
When the cheirosiphōns were deployed, their flames engulfed the charging Germans. The inferno stopped them utterly in their tracks, and the fire consumed the grain field between Constantine's men and the enemy. It was an effective barrier, but Constantine hesitated to send his troops through a burning field. On the other side, Otto managed to steady his forces before they completely routed. Taking up his banner, Otto rallied his men, using i...

I leaned over the table. On it lay a paper map. It had to be updated every now and then as new information came in. Red circles marked lines, depicting recent ambushes. The map represented a Cell that had struck an SDC convoy. In the past, we would have relied on messengers to relay our positions, a necessity when fighting nobles and bandits that required coordinated efforts. But now, against a vastly different enemy, that was no longer the case. The ambushes alone were enough to t...

The light of the lamps illuminated the room. Agnes had completed her final checks before stepping outside to stand guard at the door, leaving Louise and Henrietta alone. Both had changed into something much more comfortable. The Princess sat beneath the covers while Louise combed her hair in front of the mirror.
"Do you really think your familiar will find Fouquet?" Henrietta asked, her voice soft but curious.
Louise paused, considering the question. Then, with a firm no...

These are just some pics in my place. Further ahead, I can’t go any more because floodwaters are big. The power company has shut off power on the whole island as a protective measure but hopefully damage is manageable and power returns. The destruction is just as equal as the storm that fucked is up a few years ago. There’s videos and shit of cars getting washed away.
If you are Filipino, sound off and don’t die, g.

He stood before the statue.
It wasn't particularly large. Without its pedestal, it would have been no taller than him. Time had worn it down, the paint that once gave it life had long faded, leaving behind only the stark purity of marble. The nose was chipped, and the laurel crown, once proud, had been smoothed by centuries of wind and rain. Yet, despite the wear, the face still exuded dignity.
Otto had arrived in Tarracina with his army after a grueling night march. The...

The moment the golem revealed itself, Louise's familiar and his wife leapt out of the window to confront the threat. Meanwhile, Agnes swiftly escorted Henrietta and Louise to a safe room to wait out the chaos. But Henrietta, driven by urgency, pushed past Agnes and her guards, determined to witness the aftermath for herself.
When she reached the field where the golem had struck, her heart sank. Craters marred the ground, remnants of fallen earth constructs littered the area, a...

The morning revealed an empty camp on the far side of the river. Constantine was cautious however and he would not order his army to cross until it was certain the Franks had fully retreated. Scouts were dispatched to confirm, and their reports soon returned: the Franks were indeed gone.
"Hah," Dalassenos laughed. "The cowards have fled!"
The army began its march across the bridge.
"Do not celebrate yet, Patrikios," Constantine warned. "By pulling back from the bri...

TLDR: His anemia is slowly going away, and dextrose treatment is fixing his dehydration. His appetite for food and water is normal as well so that’s encouraging.
However, he still needs further observation. But as far as I can see, the results are encouraging.

Sirens wailed in the distance, a haunting harmony to the groaning of airships cutting through the skies above Atlas' spires. Their engines rattled the air, the sound bouncing off the cold, unyielding stone of the city. The rhythmic stomp of marching boots joined the cacophony, accompanied by the low growl of armored trucks. One by one, the trucks stopped, their back latches slamming open. Soldiers poured out, white armor gleaming under the dull, wintry light. They moved with precisi...

When the Good Hunter stepped off the stage, he snorted incessantly as Louise dragged him away by the arm. Evetta followed close behind, clapping softly, her smile warm, while Derflinger chuckled from within his sheath. The group made their way to a quiet corner, tucked away from the bustling crowd. Louise spun on her heel to face the Good Hunter, her gaze sharp and questioning.
"What the hell was that?" she demanded, her voice flat but laced with frustration.
"A display ...

Count Adelchis sat tall in his saddle, a striking figure clad in gleaming mail and a nasal helmet, his crimson cloak billowing as the wind swept down from the hills. High above, the sun blazed mercilessly, casting sharp shadows over the assembled host. He squinted across the river at the enemy lines, their armor sparkling like a field of scattered stars. They stood motionless, their banners fluttering faintly in the breeze.
"Are..." Count Oswald let out a long yawn, his voice ...

Smoke and the sharp tang of burned wires filled my nostrils as the SDC officer collapsed onto his back. He whimpered, curling into a ball, his trembling hands shielding his face. My shadow loomed over him, sword raised high. I struck once.
A groan escaped his lips as his aura flared briefly before flickering out, leaving him defenseless. Vulnerable. My expression remained cold as I raised my sword again, poised to finish him.
But I paused.
A burst of static-filled ...

"Where is he? Where is he? Where is he?"
The speed at which Louise paced around the floor was almost impressive. If she kept it up, she'd eventually leave an imprint on the strone. Not that Louise cared about that right now. Her mind was consumed with a single thought: her familiar had vanished right in front of her eyes. It was as if someone had thrown a blanket of illusion over reality and whisked him away. Panic gripped her chest, cold and unrelenting, as if ice had replac...
