As of writing, last week's poll is coming to a close. Although it’s pretty close, it looks like people are happy with just the Dropbox folder. I think this is the first time I’ve done a poll here and it’s been nice directly engaging with all of you. About 21 of my 74 patrons voted (about a third, although that may include the odd non-patron.)
For those of you who do want PDF collections, a couple of thoughts. Firstly, while I won’t prioritise it, I’m not saying they won’t g...

Shout out to Aaron Griffin for reminding me about sorting out some archives of old releases! We're sorting out a Dropbox folder that I'll link to on the front page.
HOWEVER - would people want new PDFs containing the original content, broken up by year? Is this something you'd find valuable?
These would be paid releases, containing the original text and images reformatted into one book (probably A5, single column.)
Best guess, if people are keen, the first year w...

I'm back! I'm here! Don't panic!
Two things: First, hello again! I've been away for many months due to personal stuff (mostly positive; I'm married now!) Here is a brand new Dungeon World adventure with all the good/horrible stuff you've come to love/hate.
Second: I am days away from releasing the third part of the Dungeon World "Print Tril...

I don't have a new adventure for you this January, but I do have something I know a lot of you have been interested in.
This is Dungeon Lyte, a rules-light Dungeon Crawler borne out of my "Dungeon World Lite" ruleset. (Some of you might have seen this in previous adventures, like By Beard and Ear and Azulgund's Bane.) For the first time, I'm releasing this as a stand-alone ruleset. Anything that works with Dungeon World should work with Dungeon Lyte, including (obvio...

With all the malarkey with Patreon earlier in December, I did originally say I wasn't going to post PDFs on here. However, for now, it looks like the proposed changes that caused all the trouble haven't gone ahead. I am still looking into Gumroad, DTRPG and others as both a potential alternative to Patreon and a place to publically release older releases. With that, on with the show!
Edit 31/12/2017: Whoops! Forgot the PDF, my bad. It's attached now.
I don't know about you guys,...

Hey guys. You may have seen by now that Patreon is changing how it's fees are structured. Long story short, your pledges are probably going to increase by 50 cents or so, which given the relatively low nature of most of the pledges here, is a major pain in the butt.
Here's what I'm going to do about it. Until this whole mess settles down (or it's prudent to switch to a new method) I'll be pausing my Patreon releases. Any PDFs I'd normally release here will be released on DrivethruRPG instead. I...

This is a stand-alone Dungeon World adventure - it's unrelated to any of my other adventures, although the themes are pretty compatible with adventures in the lands of Mirkasa. If you run it, let me know how it went!
(I'm hoping this is still going to come up in searches for "The Gulish Choir", without the Umlaut...)

Thanks to those who gave a bit of feedback on the cover earlier this month, and shout-out to Andrew and Christo for the playtest a couple of weekends ago! This is a pretty straightforward adventure that got more straightforward the more I worked on it. The adventure front is still there, but the core of the adventure - the demon and what it does to the populace living above it - got flipped around a bit in development. Anyway, hope you like it!

This is a brand new adventure for Dungeon World, with a full campaign front, monsters, and questions for your party. As always, let me know what you think!
(Thank you everybody who gave feedback last week. I did take it on board, and it was very useful. You might be surprised it's not what I'm releasing today - I'll put some more info on why that is on Google plus. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this one!)

Corpseglade is a standalone Dungeon World adventure (you don't need any foreknowledge of my other adventures to run it.) It has 12 pages of fiction, custom moves, useful tables and pretty pictures to inform and inspire your next game of Dungeon World. Enjoy!

Hi Patrons! As you may know, I broke my hand earlier this month. (This sucks, and I generally don't recommend it.) As such, I wasn't able to get all my content complete for this month - apologies for this.
While I continue to work on some new content for August, here's a free re-release originally from 2015 - Warrens of Odokar. I recently got some lovely correspondence from a player telling me how much they enjoyed running this, so I figured it bears another turn in the ...

World of Dungeons & Planarch Codex, revisited!
New month, new Patreon, new release!
A change to what was scheduled, but I hope you enjoy all the same. This is a return to the Planarch Codex setting as originally written by Jonathan Walton. There's a few ideas in here - I hope some or all will be useful for your games!
See you next month,
Joe

Thank you and hello to our new Patrons this month! I only just realised we're nearly at my first new target already - when we pass $90/month, you all lock in a guaranteed adventure each and every month. Expect much back-patting and feeling good about yourself to ensue!
Right now, we're definitely on target for the re-release of The Planarch Vault before May. Whether you read the original or are coming to this new, I think you'll find plenty to tempt you here. What ...

Here's the last part of Promises in Bone, which we started last month. Lots more treasures, fuel for your fronts, interesting characters, and fiction.
I won't call it a conclusion - where it goes from here, I leave to you players. But there's a lot to kick-start a new campaign or breathe life into an old one, I hope. Enjoy!

Hey all - not a DW update, but I wanted to let you know I just posted a micro-game for sale on DTRPG, Stranger Chrome.
It's a short experimental game for 3-5 players mixing the coming-of-age themes of Stranger Things with issues of dystopian life from cyperpunk and near-future tales like Burning Chrome.
If you pick it up, let me know what you think. If you like my writing and design and don't mind reading something that isn't Dungeon World-related, I think you'll enj...

As the title says - a revision of the quick-start rules I first posted in Broken Kings (and elsewhere.) Would this be a useful addition for future releases? Is this enough for one-shots, or rules-light/intro sessions of Dungeon World?
Ideally drop a comment in the G+ feed, but I'll read them here, too.
Thanks!

As promised this is a variation on the ruleset from my last release. There's a lot of DNA from Lady Blackbird and Firefly in here too, but I had a lot of fun converting the character classes to fit the setting.
As always, if you use this in play and post a write-up let me know. Have fun!

I've started working on a new version of The Green Scar to complement Umberto v.2 - here's an adventure I wrote up to go in it.
Earlier this month I also posted some ideas I'd had on holiday for a lighter version of Dungeon World/World of Dungeons. The initial postings were well recieved online, so I've included my expanded rules for them so far. If you give them a try, let me know how they went! (You can expect a similar, alternative set to appear as part of the next release, if...

I'm back! Like the tortoise I return, slow yet formidable.
And why wouldn't you want a tortoise-city in your games? Once the PCs have finished their discworld jokes, they could cause all kinds of trouble in the tapering spires on top, or the (literal) seedy underbelly below.
Of course, things are never so straightforward - there's the literal problem of an impending doom to deal with first. Read on for more!

Dear friends,
For over two years you've supported my monthly PDFs here on Patreon. However, it's with a heavy heart I tell you this will soon be changing.
It's probably no secret my output has slowed of late. Changes of circumstances and new work/life commitments over the last year or so have meant less time to write and design adventures, much less run them. When I have had time, I've wa...

My good friend, old-school playtester and long-time patron Tim Dennett came to me with some ideas for his first foray into GM'ing in the Mirkasa setting (which his original character and ideas were a very strong influence for.) Here's the result we came up with.
I'm particularly happy with the result - for first-time GMs, I think it's one of the best introductory documents I've made yet (for Dungeon World or otherwise.)
There's 11 pages of content here, including a previous...
