In what surely must be acknowledged as a familiar refrain, this is another guest I've been wanting to have on A Bit Of A Chat for ages, but schedules and circumstance have conspired against us...
Until now.
NOW you can listen to me chat with humorist OhNoSheTwitnt, as we talk about assertive cats, owlsplaining, Robin Hood, The Hero Of Nakatomi Plaza, pop culture blindspots, awful Maui, compartmentalized maturity, Di...

After a span of far too many years, I had a chance to Chat with artist Michael Kupperman.
Our conversation mainly centered around his brand new "Graphic Memoir", ALL THE ANSWERS, which is a truly phenomenal work.
As I wrote on my Instagram last week, I had been wanting to read it since the moment it arrived in my post box, but life had been thwarting my best efforts to do so.
My refrigerator had stopped working. I had (and continue to have) a deepening existential crisis. And...

File this under "Things I Forgot To Properly Mention", but while in Brooklyn a few months back, I was very kindly asked to guest on Danny Tamberelli and Mike Maronna's show, THE ADVENTURES OF DANNY & MIKE. It was a delightful time, even if I did somehow manage to pit Pete against Pete while taking Pete's side in a longstanding conflict between Pete and Pete for which I owe many apologies to Pete for weighing in on what was clearly a private conflict between Pete and Pete. For Pete's sake.

It's been a bit of a break, but here's a BRAND NEW Bit Of A Chat for you. I really don't have much to say about it except it features a returning guest, Molly Lewis. She's a genius and a dear friend, and I always delight in getting the chance to talk with her, no matter the deep, weird, or goofy places the conversation goes.
So, HEAR as we talk about Creosoting, Magnedinq, executive dysfunction, vanilla aspirations, Dormhall Gleeson, Lumbear Jack, Manchurian Charcoal, Lump Situations, Chatchel...

While we keep in periodic catch-up contact and mange to grab a tea and coffee in cities both here and abroad, it's actually been years since I've had another Bit Of A Chat with musician Marian Call. Which is a criminal oversight on my part. What makes it even worse is that numerous times in this new, long overdue Chat, I reference and expand upon things I thought we had discussed in a previous episode but were really just things we conversed about as two friends on a phone call or having tea in ...

I recently had a chance to sit down with the former Disney Imagineer behind both the east & west coast iterations of their brilliant Jungle Cruise-inspired bars - Disneyland's Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar and Disney World's Trader Sam's Grog Grotto - Brandon Kleyla, as we talked of his time as a Skipper, theme parks, imagineering, and even his new book: THE FIELD GUIDE TO TIKI DECORATING.
If you're a deep-dive Disney nerd, suit up and jump in...

As I hope you all know, I’ve been offering to draw my “Awful Drawings Of Any Character” for Patrons at the $10+ level. (If you’re a $10+ Patron, you tell me what you would like an Awful Drawing of, I draw it, and then I send it to you to display in what I’m sure will be a place of honor in your home or office or home office).
BUT, as I’ve been having fun doing these, I’ve drawn a bunch of extra pieces that were not intended for anyone in particular,...

Steve Agee is a swell guy. For someone I just properly met only a few short weeks ago, it seems like I've known him for ages.
And that's why I knew, as soon as we met, that I should have him on A Bit Of A Chat. You know, so we could talk about all kinds of things.
HEAR us chat about car jail, stress tests, Tony Danza beard, Ravagers, catering, Sarah Silverman, improv, reality disorder, panic attacks, Busy bodies, eyeburns, hypochondria, worry pits, and death notes HERE:

And here we have the final Chat in my run of Brooklyn diner recording sessions made during my recent trip to that fair borough.
For this grand finale, I sat down at The Brooklyn Label with 2/3 of Movie Sign With The Mads, Frank Conniff & Carolina Hidlago.
With more YOU ARE THERE WITH US ambient noise than you can shake a stick at, HEAR us talk about New York tourism, driving, New Year's, Bonding, never-seens, Conniff candidacy, parks, bartending, and stand-up...

When I went back to Brooklyn, I was able to find a spare moment in the life of salty sea dog Jonathan Coulton to record another Bit Of A Chat.
Fresh off his annual JoCo Cruise, a tour with Aimee Mann, and a brand new album - SOLID STATE - we talked of bad hair, Acme brands, corned beef, null cheese, accents, lyrics, bad Doors, Jimmy Buffett, and jukebox musicals, all while dining at Brooklyn's own Little Purity diner.

This is another one of those Chats that has been a long time coming, and finally came together during my recent trip to New York City. Recorded at the Silver Star diner in Manhattan, I have a lovely conversation with my friend, writer Craig Shemin - who also happens to be the president of The Jim Henson Legacy.

I will then send you this drawing as a THANK YOU for your support. My first Bit Of A Chat with Jean Grae was a thing of giddy beauty, and easily one of the most goofy I've ever done.
When I found myself making an unexpected return to Brooklyn, I had the good fortune of being able to sit down with Jean and her partner, Quelle Chris, for a brand new Chat that I feel goes to more wonderfully weird places.
Their album, EVERYTHING'S FINE, will be available on March 30th.
Until then, watch the music videos they've dropped, and listen to us talk about so...

For the past few years, I've been hosting a wonderful panel called Reel Crime, where my guests - Trace Beaulieu, Frank Conniff, and Bill Corbett - pick their favorite guilty pleasure films and then have to defend their choices.
For this edition, recorded at PensaCon in Pensacola, Florida on February 24th, 2018, Trace & Frank were unable to attend but their panel positions were filled ably by the We Got This duo, Hal Lublin & Mark Gagliard...

So, I think I'm really beginning to enjoy recording Bit Of A Chats out and about in public places.
Moving on from the diners of New York, I decided to record this episode, with puppeteer Calvin Lester, while seated in the outside terrace bar of Walt Disney World's enchanted tiki bar, Trader Sam's.
As for the Chat itself, it's a fun one, as the conversation is delightfully all over the place, touching on tiki bars, Muppets, Disney World, fancy drinks, Frank Oz and Jim Henson, Leslie...

Hey, howdy!
As a thank you for being a Patron, here's another EXCLUSIVE for you, recorded LIVE at this year's PensaCon in Pensacola, Florida.
Every year at DragonCon, I host a few panel shows affectionately (and accurately) titled Gonzo Quiz Shows. They're a mix of various quiz games lovingly foisted upon a panel of delightful guests.
But in what now seems like a steady expansion, I took the Gonzo Quiz Show to another wonderful con, the aforementioned PensaCon.
For this show,...

Conventions are packed with unexpected bonding experiences, and that was certainly the case during a Miami con I guested at in January.
One of the people I had the pleasure of meeting - who just so happens to be the guest of this here episode - was comedian Lucie Pohl, who video game fans will know as the voice of Overwatch's Mercy.
We got on swell, so I did what I usually do with people I get on swell with, which is to invite them on my goofball little show.
It took a few weeks, a...

Shortly after the new year - thanks to the awkwardness of American Airlines canceling my flight and the kindness of my friend Mark Evanier - I had a chance to see the brilliant live improv show The Black Version (something you should most definitely do if the opportunity presents itself, which it does every single month if you live in Los Angeles).
And for this episode of A Bit Of A Chat, I got to gab with the creator of the show, writer/performer Jordan Black.

This is something special for all of you who may have been fans of the Ken P.D. Snydecast, which I co-hosted for many years with Dana Snyder.
Consider this a supplemental bit of ephemera for that dearly departed show, as this was recorded on January 13, 2018 at Miami's Paradise City Comic-Con and features me and Snydecast super-fan (and author) Guy Hutchinson having goofy fun for about an hour as we pinch-hitted for a panel that lost its hosts.

I recorded quite a few in-person Bit Of A Chats while I was in Los Angeles, but the very last one I did was with old friend, and frequent guest, James Urbaniak.
I've said it before, but I genuinely do think that there is a decidedly different vibrancy to the episodes I record while I'm in the same room with my guests, and I think this conversation is a prime example of us playing fast and loose and fun with each other.
See (or hear) if you agree, as we talk parking, Pirate Joe's, headsho...

I don't get the chance to catch up with my friend (and voice actor extraordinaire) Billy West often enough, so when the opportunity presented itself to do just that - and to record it as A Bit Of A Chat - I leapt at it.
So we did just that, seated at a patio table behind Burbank's famous Smokehouse restaurant.
Over salad, cheesecake, and their signature garlic bread, we talked of Stooges, Gary Owens, rolodexes, plumbing, Futurama, Brian Wilson, Milky the Clown, and more. Have a listen......

Two elements are a constant whenever I have a Bit Of A Chat with frequent guest Mike Phirman - things get musical and things get weird. And goofy. So, three elements. Oh, and fun. FOUR elements.
And when we're both in the same place together, we get exponentially more goofy, as we did when we recorded this episode in his home studio.
So, here we are, chatting about Fake Zombies, sound foam, thrillseeking, meeting Hardwick, seasonal novelties, Fecta, thumb pianos, and dueling Randy Newman...
