Value Studies
Hello all! Today's study practice was drawing Miss Cori's Special (and above) patrons' characters with a focus on value studies!!! I really enjoyed this and learned a lot, and I can tell I got stronger throughout the day. (The pics above are displayed from last to first.)

A new page! A new place! A sad Bel!
I'm trying something new with this background. I've saved it in background, midground, and foreground chunks so I can try doing some minor parallax in panels, to help with the illusion of them moving from place to place. It's not in full view on this page yet, and with luck it won't actually be that noticeable (why do I do this to myself), but I'm excited to play around with it and see what happens.

Nick and Kennedy - 10 Years Update
Once upon a time, long before Tamberlane, I worked with my friend Sam on a webcomic called Walking on Broken Glass. Today was her birthday, so I decided to (conceptually) redraw an old piece from the time that I really liked, as a birthday gift!

Shapes Exercises
There's a drawing exercise where you make random shapes on a page, and then try to turn those shapes into pictures. I decided that would be a fun thing to do today, and here are the results!
I've been trying to draw on real paper more and it's been a joy to reconnect to my doodly past. Hooray!

No Create What You Want Friday for me today because I have my monthly "medically go to space" procedure and I will be recovering all day. So in lieu of that, have a sketch I did earlier this week of Finley!
