Upcoming video

Dear Patrons,

I hope you are all doing well.

Because I've been working on the microtonal guitar design projects, my video production efficiency has decreased. I am planning to share this video in a few weeks which I recorded at Bath Spa University. Please don't share it with anyone. I hope you like it.

Best,

Tolga

New Design Projects

Dear Patrons,

As I realized that it is very important to mass produce the microtonal guitar to make it widespread acroos the Globe, I've spent a lot of times working on new designs. I have 3 projects:

1) automatic microtonal guitar: This is going well. I've just applied for a fund at Istanbul Technical University. I bought some shape memory wires from the money you gave me to have a research on the fretboard.

2) Mass production for the microtonal fretboard: I am trying to mak...

Peak Moment for the Microtonal Guitar

Dear Patrons,

Finally I've finished editing the documentary of the Würzburg event. I don't think that I could be able to organize such an event in my life time :) 5 university guitar departments, a new music ensemble, 12 composers writing 12 pieces for microtonal guitar.... once in a life time :)

I hope you enjoy the video, best from Istanbul.

Dear Patrons,

Surprise for Patrons

Dear Patrons,

Please find attached a new video which is not published yet. Please don't share it with anyone. Only you can see. I hope you like Balinese music on the guitar. As far as I know this is the first example in the world.

The surprise is the ending of the video. I thank to my patrons who have been supporting me with at least 10 dollars per month. Please check your names, I think I write them down correctly.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best,

Back in Istanbul and New Competition

Dear Patrons,

I am back in Istanbul after a year in Bristol. Good to see family and friends but bad to see the polluted and chaotic Istanbul. I am working on a video of a competition announcement: 2nd International Microtonal Guitar Competition. I am so happy that microtonal guitar pioneer John Schneider, Prof. Jürgen Ruck and Fernando Perez accepted to be in the jury. As I did in 2016 at the first competition, I will send free small frets whoever sends me  their postal address. In...

Anyway, please find attached my latest video, it is a farewell to lovely Bristol at my favourite spot, Royal Fort Lodge. I spent a long time there, relaxing, reading, listening, walking. All the best, Tolga

Back from Germany

Dear Patrons,

I've just come back from Germany to Bristol and heading back to Istanbul after a year next week. The event in Würzburg was a peak moment for the microtonal guitar. I can't imagine myself again gathering 5 universities, Hezarfen Ensemble and 12 composers composing for microtonal guitar. The event was so fruitful. I am working on the documentary of the event. I hope you like the first week video.

All the best from Bristol, Tolgahan

New video for patrons

Dear Patrons, Here is my new video. Firstly, please don't share it with anyone because it's not finished and I've sent it to some experts in microtonal music to receive their opinions (John Schneider, Mark Lindley). If you see a mistake, please tell me as well. My English grammar might be wrong too on the video :)

I hope you like it. I did this video because of the 200000 views for the Bach experiment video.

All the best,

Tolga

Major 3rd Problem and some new projects

Dear Patrons,

I am happy that my latest video 'Major 3rd Problem' triggered a debate on YouTube and as you may know my aim is to make people aware of microtonality and questioning the dominant 12 tone equal temperament.

I just finished Navid Bargrizan's piece composed for me.

Change of my Patreon Policy

Dear my 5 Patrons,

I really appreciate your support, thanks to you I am earning 27 dollars a month but as you guess it is not enough. The last video I shared cost me 500 dollars with the production and facebook/instagram promotion.

That's why I want to try to change the monthly payment to 'per video' payment. Don't worry, you can set your maximum amount for your payment and I promise that I won't share more than 2 videos per month. I am aiming to publish at least one video a month ...

Ara Dinkjian - Microtonal Guitar & Lavta - Keesher Bar

Hi Friends, Here is my first video I am sharing on Patreon. An Erasmus exchange student from Greece, Charis Laurijsen, enrolled in my class last term at the university I am currently working -Istanbul Technical University, Dr. Erol Ucer Center for Advanced Studies in Music. That was the critical moment for two projects I've really enjoyed for the last couple of months. The first one was 'Microtonal Bouzouki' in which we have added small frets onto the Bouzouki's fretboard. Here is the second on...
