Blekkmetal art in pre-release gallery!

The pre-release gallery is filling up! Now all the art from the fantastic, once-in-a-lifetime, Blekkmetal is up. Blekkmetal was a celebration of early 90's Norwegian Black Metal and tattooing. Unfortunately, I didn't get to experience much of the tattoo-aspect, but I did get to draw every band playing. There were a lot of sets will old-school black metal, full of songs not played in a long while, if ever.  So a pure pleasure to draw.

Heavy Montreal & Beyond the Gates pre-release gallery!

Merry Happy New Year!

Just a quick post. All the art from Heavy Montreal & Beyond the Gates is finally uploaded to the pre-release gallery. That means Abbath, Gorguts, Faith No More, Neurosis, Bölzer, One Tail One Head, Pig Destroyer, and many more!

Unfortunately I didn't draw as much as I would have liked, due to logistics at HMTL, and due to a broken drawing hand at BTG. More on the broken hand later. But a lot of good shit was drawn.

Just added the #inktober scans to the pre-release gallery, and will be adding a whole lot of metal live-sketches in the coming days. For now, and until release, for you patrons only.

Remember, if you want to buy a print, all images are as cheap as possible as long as they're in the pre-release gallery. 1$ profit for me, per print. And there prints are pretty awesome quality.

Reading Lovecraft with OGNOY & Solheim.

Last Thursday, before the amazing Blekkmetal Festival, I did a reading of the three Lovecraft prose-poems "Ex-Oblivione", "What The Moon Brings", and "Memory", with my illustrations and music by Bjørn Ognøy and Espen Solheim.

Sorry for the lack of updates, but I'm trying to grab a hold of this beast again. First some bad news.

Free Art Fridays are postponed indefinitely. Due to mental and physical considerations, I'm simply not able to do them regularly. Sorry.

I think the relaunch of Free Art Friday has been a great success so far. So thank you to all you patrons who make it possible. I had the best time at Roadburn Festival, with a great exhibition, and amazing concerts. Due to the stages being difficult to work with, I actually did a lot of just experiencing the festival, seeing great bands, meeting great people, and just feeling great. Here's the sketchbook for March. This time, and this time only, I'm posting it publicly, so that people can have a look at what they get. Next month, it will be exclusive for the 20$ + patrons. Sketch-book update.

So, the sketchbook has been a little slim at times. This is changing as we speak. I've decided to set aside at least half an hour every day to practice my basic draughtsman skills with a pencil. That means life-drawings, landscapes, master copies, studies of different objects or beings, anatomy, perspective and such. Early February I announced that I needed to do a bit of a refocus. But the best laid plans of mice and men... Instead of a refocus, it became an unfocus. In a maelstrom of family-commitments, flu and colds, tons of tiny tasks and hundreds of images to scan, one and a half month swept by with little concrete work done, and little to show for, except the Free Art Friday art (Which has been pretty cool).
