Sailing Ionian Sea [Ep.8] Sivota to Kefalonia - Perfect Wind & Mainsail Mistake - Sailing SV CUBA

You guessed right we are still on the move sailing the Greek islands which are gifting us with the perfect sailing conditions. In this episode of SV CUBA, we pull up the hook in Ithaka in search of fuel and to find another protected anchorage since the winds are shifting. Lefkada or rather the large bay of Vasiliki looks promising with a gas station within walking distance.

This time however the wind is not in a favorable direction and we have to tack many times through the wind to get ...

Sailing Greek Islands [Ep.7] Lefkada to Ithaca - A Yacht Haven NO Big Waves - Sailing SV CUBA

Come along in this episode of Sailing SV CUBA as we have a hair-raising experience, crossing the Lefkada-Canal and make it to one of the most stunning beaches of the Ionian Sea.

We left our entrance port, Preveza behind and sail south to take on the challenge of passing through the Lefkada-Canal, a 3.5-mile-long passage that has been dredged between the island of Lefkada and mainland Greece. To pass through the narrow canal sailing boats and motor yachts have to wait for the swiveling c...

Cruising Greece Without Sailing Flag - [Ep.6] - Sailing Around the World - Sailing SV CUBA

In this episode of Sailing SV CUBA we leave Albania behind to sail south to “where the coconut oil melts”. In our case, that’s a sail to Greece. Because we do not want to arrive at Preveza in the dark, due to the fact that we have to pass through a very narrow canal, we leave Sarande, Albania and Corfu behind us, at 5 am.

Because there was almost no wind, we had to motorsail for some. Everything looks perfect at first, but soon we realize we have forgotten an important detail. Una...

In Search of the Mesmerizing Blue Eye of Albania - Sailing SV CUBA [Ep.4]

We got ourselves some wheels for a day! But before that, we leave a very rolly anchorage and almost lose our means to pay. A traveler's tip not just for fellow sailors or cruisers: Never use a free-standing ATM! – Especially, when you are low on fuel.

Follow us in this episode as we leave our sailboat behind and venture to a natural phenomenon, the mesmerizing Blue Eye of Albania. With SV CUBA tied up to the customs dock, we grab some Quads and make our way up the dusty country roads ...

Wild Canyon of Gjipe - Anchored in Hidden Paradise - Sailing SV CUBA [Ep.3]

In this episode we sail to the remote canyon of Gjipe, a gem of the Albanian Riviera. Not knowing anything about this hidden paradise we set sail from Himare. Though the wind gods are not on our side, we are greeted by dolphins on our bow instead on our sail there.

As we drop anchor in front of the canyon, we get greeted by a spectacular sight and cannot wait to explore this marvel. We leave our sailboat without any preparation, still in our flip flops. The sheer vertical cliffs are loo...

Sailing ALBANIA - Captivating Beauty | Travel (HIMARE) - Sailing SV CUBA [Ep.2]

In this episode we arrive in Porto Palermo, an Albanian military zone, which also holds the century-old Ali Pasha castle. There are only few options to find shelter in Albania and with strong northerly winds arriving, we were given a tip to tie up to a pontoon in the bay.

Little did we know that the pontoon was built to dock large ships & submarines and soon we were boarded by police and asked to leave. After moving CUBA to Himare, we decided to take the dinghy back to explore...

Albania's Abandoned Bunkers - Sailing SV CUBA [Ep.1]

Hey lovely Patrons!

This is our very first video that we are sharing with the world. We only just arrived in Albania after a 2 day sail from Malta early May 2021. We decided to take you along for our adventures.

We are no video creators or editors and are doing every bit from filming, to editing ourselves and just want to bring you some fun, good vibes, and a bit of info (that you may not have known yet) about the places we visit on our travels around the globe.
