i tried to archive the stream for u but apparently just by listening to spotify while signing the notes the video got 15 copyright claims =-_-= the algorithms =-_-= ! so i won't be able to leave the youtube livestreams up if i listen to music on spotify onstream.
i also need to figure out why my obs didn't work properly. i saw you saw the screen i broadcast, but i couldn't see that same thing n reatime on my obs. i was using two laptops, the second one to offload some processing power of the extra video feeds onto.
all of this to say, i could do this on twitch too and with the mutant TV layout sooner, or i could wait and look into it and teach myself how to get obs and youtube working the same way i know i can use obs into twitch
so, up to you: i could do both the patron only streams on youtube, unarchived, but more intimate, and take a little longer to get through all the notes if that's ok?
or i could focus my energy on twitch, move MUTANT TV there and start broadcasting with the new identity on twitch, and move the notesigning onto the public stream, which means i'd be done signing all the notes faster which means you would get it sooner
i ask becauase i didn't know i would be so slow signing notes but i love putting all my love into the notes. so i don't wanna rush! but i wanna know if you have a preference:

this one i walk past every day, it's quite large. it began as a self portait, or at least a figurative portrait of a face. then slowly it became more textural as i dripped latex on it, and painted the latex red. if you tilt your head 90 degrees to the right you can see the eyelashes coming out of a head. it reminded me of that femme gremlin in the movie gremlins when i was making it. :3

i had mentioned possibly doing the notesigning on livestream tomorrow - in order to do it the way i had intended, with a livestream in one long hangout+burst, with the full list of members due notes, i think it makes sense to reschedule. i know some of you have been waiting for this note for a while so i hope to make it worth your while in the details of the moment of signing
there's some logistical stuff too, for instance, some people have requested not to have the note mailed to them. if you signed up in the first week and would like a picture of your note, but not the physical note, please comment below :]

apparently there has been some mixups with signups for patreon so i've reached out to patreon to find the list of exactly who is due a note. this is important because i'd like to write each person's name, and say their name aloud on the air during the stream.

i've been choosing carefully how to do the handwritten notes for all the patrons who signed up the first week <3 thank you for your patience with this! i wanted to do it when i was able to do it with care and intention <3 i'm tentatively thinking of a stream on june 4th to sign stuff and do some q+a with you. will keep you updated, but does that date sound good? i'm thinking of using crowdcast so it's patron-only, and can be a more cozy space to unwind and have a longer more chill stream while i sign stuff, order food, play music, etc
i have always made a point since my debut album to write all the tracklists by hand
it usually takes me at least a week per album
i try lots of things; switching from right hand to left hand, squinting, different inks, taking breaks, spending time... i never know exactly what i'm looking for textwise but i always have an idea of the mood of how i'd like for it to feel. over the years i like the idea of developing a textstyle for each album. i remember being so torn between whether to apply to study music or design-- i remember why the idea to handwrite things was born: i love typography so much that i couldn't dare my my mind up about which typeface would work to convey each title, lovingly chosen. so- i thought, ok! lemme roll up my sleeves and make it as personal as i can ! xen, mutant, and now kick - it's a tradition i am excited to continue <3 there's something of a ritual element to it now. it was interesting to write other musicians' names! since this is the first one with vocal features it was the first time I wrote other artists' names out by hand, it felt very exciting , that part <3

in order to do it right, i'm researching how and which paper to use to deliver the handwritten notes. kind of a moebius strip, that's why i set up the patron-only livestreams: i look forward to jamming with u all and signing notes and hanging out while i sign <3 i'll wait a little bit after the first month of membership to start really getting into it and setting it all up and getting all the first-week patron (ride or dies i tell ya!!! <3) their notes. thank you so much for your support from week 1 ! literally

I'm working on songs with a few collaborators and have been in the studio a lot this week. It's been interesting, considering the ups and downs of energy and motivation that can come from working under lockdown. As things slowly open back up, and as a new normal sets in, I am super glad to have decided to put out KiCk i soon. The date might chance, but before the month is over there should be a next announce. Tomorrow a Wire Magazine coverstory drops; it was a conversation I felt was very candid, and I'm as curious as you all to see how the piece/photostory turned out!

this one is my first self portrait, titled so anyway (っ⌒ . ⌒)っ
there was the intention to convey multiple states of the self in drawing two gazes; as if one could look into a mirror from one self states and see the other(s); that was the intention behind the overlay. here i see one of the faces expression as more mischievous & fierce, and the other contemplates the viewer back with a loving maternal gaze. i don't conceptualize my paintings so much that i start off with an idea.. i try to just follow impulses hoping they surprise me, hoping that the image that appears in front of me can teach me something about myself. only in studying the process in hindsight do some realizations become possible when looking back on things one has made in the past. <3

The piece might be up for a limited time only, so be sure to check it out if you're curious.
Air Doll is a 2009 Japanese drama film directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda. It is based on the manga series Kuuki Ningyo by Yoshiie Gōda, which was serialized in the seinen manga magazine Big Comic Original, and is about an inflatable doll that develops a consciousness and falls in love.
Thought it would be nice to start with something like this, keep things casual.
