Royal Mermay sketches

Mermay is almost over, so I've decided to catch it up and sketch The Princess a little.
Hope you don't mind it!

I thought about mermaid!April (move over, Ariel, haha) and about mermaid-like look with dress, "wet" hair style, crystal clear gems here and there like waterdrops and fishnet-like sleeves made of gold thread.

Well, it's my... third or fourth artwork without lineart? And I like it?
No way...

But seriously, it's a rare case when I don't do lineart at all. But I did enjoy working like that!
Slightly changed background to match the perspective, tried to "sculpt" the image.

Another update~

Currently working on colors and background.
Sometimes I start with monochrome to set up shadows and lights, but there I feel like using colors right from the start is a good idea.

Enaari portrait WIP

I start thinking that posting WIP's here is a good idea.

(I want to work on arts, not trying to do the job that requiers three-four weeks of work just in a week and half, thanks to our new head of department. Ugh.)

Anyways, here's the WIP! Made some changes to her belly, tail and shoulders, hope it looks better now!
Also I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone and paint it from scratch using tablet version of ClipStudio

It is taking a little more time than I've expected.
One week with remote job - and less tasks than usual - helped so much to restore my creativity.

But less about work, more about art!
Next four pages are already sketched and wait for their turn to be finished. I think light flirt would be perfect for the first part, with just few hints about April's other side which enjoyes torture and have a sincere interest in magic and magical items.<...

I still try to find a balance between detailed artwork and time for finishing it.
And I use different brushes in hope to find the perfect one for doing lineart (the most time-consuming part for me) so the details of the style may change a little.
