Stuff from today

not ONE background but TWO.....!!!

i don't know what came over me LOL. the one with tanjiro and nezuko was planned during the coloring phase but the thundery-sky one was the result of my splashing colors on a canvas and seeing what would happen. i'm a big fan of the results! i have a particularly hard time figuring out bg colors for cloudy/rainy skies but i feel like it came out clear enough. i love painting scenery but i don't do it nearly as often as i'd like..

i'm sorry i haven't been able to update as often as i liked! i've been busy with freelance stuff u__u i just finished a really big commission though and i decided to treat myself to actually finished art lol so: sans! the announcement came out of nowhere and i was convinced it was fake, but it was real! i don't know what to do with myself. i don't even play smash! 

this pic was more of a brush test than it was like an actual break for me but whateverrrrrrrrr

the fully finished pic was a print that i'll probably scrap and redo. i still like the bg though so maybe i'll reuse it for next time ^^;; i feel like it was a product of just rushing to finish SOMETHING and it ended up not looking as good as a result...i'll do better next time!&nbs...

these aren't really sketches as much as they are just WIPs! i like to keep a page with sketches open so i can ink between commission work. i also have a really short attention span so i just dart around the canvas and ink a bit as i go haha, so usually i work on 3+ things at the same time. i still can't tell you if it's actually more eff...

helloooooooo i'm still working on commissions/secret freelance stuff (hehehe) so instead of another oldies post, i decided to rummage through my files and collect a nice selection of sketches for you guys! this is a BIG 11x17 canvas filled with sketches that have literally never been posted online...anywhere(except here!!! now!!!).

OLDIES: Part 5 Print

well it's not actually that old. since i'll be busy with commissions for a bit i decided it might be cool if i upload hi-res files/PSDs of old prints! the one's i still have anyway. we'll start with this part 5 print from last year!

MP100 PRINT: COMPLETE-O

WHEW...this one was probably the toughest print i've done so far....like ever

a lot of it came from the uncertainty of it. because up until the last line i had absolutely no freaking clue what the hell i was doing LOL in my experiences with collages, that's usually just how it is. ;__; you only have a vague idea of what you want and 9times out of 10 you'll just end up working around it due to limitations.

i'm super happy with the result though!! i poured a lot of time into this...

i'm working on another print! this one's a whopping 11x17! this is another one of those compositions that's been rattling around my head for like...years. i won't say TOO much so i can save it for the finished post, but this has been really fun to do!! difficult...but fun. i love collages ^^

Stone Ocean x Lisa Frank Print

HxH Print!

one print for animeNYC down! i've been missing hxh lately, so i wanted to do a print for it! the chimera ant arc still hurts LOL

the process for this one was a bit weirder than what i usually do. i sketched out a rough draft in an art app on my phone the other night when i couldn't sleep and then in the morning i reworked it into a clean-ish sketch i could work from. after that it kinda sat on my print planning page for a day or two until last night when i quickly roughed out colors and...

Uh Oh

a mob psycho 100 print! i've been thinking about this composition for like..ever and i'm so glad i channeled all my artist energy to create one kick ass mini print. there are a lot of things i'm proud of with this one, but i think i'm genuinely happiest with how cool the monster designs came out. i've always lacked confidence in actually designing characters, but they all came out so cool!!

Stone Ocean Girlz

So sorry this went up so late! i finished it late and just slept till noon lol

i attempted to make this a little more cartoon-y than i usually do, but it ended up looking basically the same as my other stuff. the idea was to make it look like character images for a fake stone ocean cartoon ^^

the .PSD doesn't have all the layers since i ended up tweaking this one a LOT, but it should be fine. i'm thinking about doing some splatoon fanart next!
