This is a collaboration between a fan who designed & manufactured these cool NPS-inspired pins. We're doing a limited run of these pins, and we will do another round if this batch sells out. Available here: https://shop.mysteryfleshpitnationalpark.com/products/mystery-flesh-pit-enamel-pin

Bonus Content - Trail Doors

These were some quick-and-dirty door/trail notes I worked up for a crew that is developing a fan roblox/Unity/VR Chat version of the Mystery Flesh Pit. It was meant for art direction within the technical limitations of the game engine they are using, but they wanted to make sure that their version was in-line with the rest of the art I have developed for the Mystery Flesh Pit project. It was fun channeling a little Alien into these icons!

W.I.P. - Park Ranger Station

The Ranger Stations within the Mystery Flesh Pit are an integral part of the park's infrastructure, so I felt that they deserved a lot of thought and care. This will ultimately become a large cutaway-style illustration similar to other drawings I have posted, but like the others, it starts as a rough 3D model through which I figure out the major layout and design elements, usually starting with a floor plan (as seen above).

Once this model is at a satisfactory level, it will e...

Quick Caver Coop sketch

Nothing ground breaking, just trying out Procreate for the first time with a little coop sketch. Total game-changer; I anticipate that this will revolutionize my drawing process as I get better with it. Using an iPad + stylus is so much easier and intuitive than my prior method of using a mouse + Photoshop to do color and shading.

Anyway, the next big piece of art I'm working on is a large cutaway illustration of a Ranger Station, so expect an early access post sometime this next week!...

Patreon Early Access Post - Field Modified Work Truck

Prior to the involvement of either the Anodyne Corporation or the National Park Service, exploration of the Mystery Flesh Pit was a crude and arduous exercise undertaken by local agriculture & oil field workers. These young men, many of whom possessed no formal training in caving, improvised a variety of methods to aid in these early missions of discovery. An early attempt to mechanize the task of crawling through the viscera of the fleshscape took the form of field modi...

Hello everyone, just giving all of you an update about how things are going. Over the past two weeks my wife and I have been in the slow process of getting things packed to move to a larger apartment, so my tools, PC, books, etc. have all been packed away (Originally the plan was to be packed for less than a week, but our move-in date was delayed due to the Easter weekend.)

Of pertinence to all of you: With this move, I finally have the opportunity to set up a hom...

Patreon Early Access Post - GeoSpa Ad

From the moment the properties of Amniotic Ballast were realized, there was a rush to export the experience of bathing in the natural Thermal Springs of the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park into the home. The difficulties in such a proposition rested within the additional property of Ballast to begin losing some of it's potency with removal from the Venterial Environment. While of course possible through a combined strategy of pressurization, heating, concentration and chemical stabilizati...

W.I.P. - Ranger Station Sketch

Ranger Stations are one of the elements of the park that I haven't explored very much, even though they would have been critical elements of both park management and visitor experiences. Any ranger station, but especially those located within Mystery Flesh Pit National Park, must fulfill a wide variety of roles.

For the Mystery Flesh Pit, the ranger stations are designed to be standardized and modular in construction. Once the pieces of a station are hauled to a site and cons...

Sneak Peek

Hi Patrons, I've broken my normal one-week embargo on new posts since I'll be away from my PC for two weeks starting today. BUT, just so you don't feel like I'm taking you guys for granted, have a little sneak peek of what I've got in the works for later this month. P.S., if you're a Benefactor-tier patron, you might want to have your mailing address updated by late this month 👀

Patreon Early Access - Bronchial Forest Pamphlet

At long last! A comprehensive look at one of the lungs of the Permian Basin Superorganism, including information about trails, wildlife, and geobiology.

NOTE: Since I'll be away from home for two weeks starting March 9th, I'm going to break my normal policy and post this publicly to the main site tomorrow morning. Thank you for understanding!

Pneumocay Sneak Peek

This was a quick illustration for a larger poster, but I thought I'd put the image here. Pneumocays are small flying creatures that live in the respiratory chasms within the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park. Though they are blind from millions of years of living in darkness, they are innately curious and sometimes even playful as they flutter and buzz around sources of noise.

Behind the scenes - LVC floor plan sketches

As there are a few fangames in the works by some very talented people, It became necessary to have a more thorough layout of a space like the Lower Visitor Center than the cutaway poster would provide. So, I roughed out these sketches to fill in a few details until I finish a full set of schematic drawings. As you can guess from the low quality of these drawings, they were never meant for public release, but I thought some of you might enjoy seeing these.

New content soon! I'm almost ...

Bronchial Forest Hiking Pamphlet WIP

Just a small update on the next major poster/illustration. This will be a 3D cutaway style map of the various hiking trails within one of the bronchial organs of the superorganism. At this stage, I've blocked in the major features with a pencil sketch and am beginning the painting process. After base colors, I'll add in additional shading where needed, before adding highlights and details.

Patreon Early Access Post - Venterial Orientation Instrument

The dark and constantly-shifting interior of the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park has been a formidable challenge to navigation since its discovery. Tethered explorations early in the history of the park mitigated this problem, but more comprehensive surveys eventually required a novel solution. By using a standard magnetic compass in combination with a barometer, a directional bearing and relative depth within the organism can be obtained. Of course, these two items of information are alone i...

New Post Up - Merry Christmas from the Mystery Flesh Pit!

Merry Christmas! This design was a fun little card that was mailed out to the Benefactor-Tier patrons. Lots of fun designing the "Pit" sled, and trying to figure out how copepods would fly. They don't have a nose, so no Rudolph unfortunately. Anyway, thank you all for a spectacular year, and I hope each and every one of you have a good holiday weekend.

Patreon Early Access Post - Anodyne Mining Rig

Happy Friday! At long last I get to unveil the mighty mining rigs, the prime money-maker for Anodyne during their reign over the Mystery Flesh Pit. These monsters represented the pinnacle of venterial technology and wrought untold havoc on all manner of inter-pit ecosystems. With a price tag of well over 300 Million USD to construct (on-site of course, you couldn't fit these in an elevator!), only 7 of these massive vehicles were built, with one of them famously dest...

Intrapark Thermal Resort W.I.P.

Here's some of the progress being made on a more complete and thorough design for the thermal resort suspended precariously above the greater Gastric Sea. Lots of brutalism and 1960s space-age inspirations for the overall architecture, with a healthy dose of the WDW Contemporary resort in the terraced room layouts. (Not visible in this view is the thermal spa itself, which would be sort of buried under and behind the main lobby section)

I'll probably end up doing some kind of cutaway f...
