Hello, hope you are all doing fine.
Version attached to this post starts directly on canvas, so you don't lose time to start drawing.
What was done:
+ Significant performance improvement. Filling goes WAY faster now.
+ User experience improvement (no need to click specifically on a shape to select it, you just toggle from round to square based on what you selected)
+ Palette swap (12 palettes sorted in a smart way so you don't deteriorate your drawing...

Hello everyone! I wish you a happy new year. Hope that you and your relatives will be happy as can be.
From my end, I will keep on working on LIZARDPAINT, which I hope you downloaded and enjoy.
You can take a look at lizardpaint.com if you want to get the official release made on Christmas. I added your names on title screen. I will as usual provide you with all (decent) intermediate releases.
Cheers!

Hello, as you know, our pixel artist is very busy.
Since I cannot really stand still, I decided to code something funny in the last weeks / months. It's called Lizardpaint and it's a painting tool which runs on your SEGA Genesis / Megadrive using a Mouse plugged in port 1.
No mouse? You can use blast'em or other emulators including this feature to give it a try.
Tha...

I checked that billing is still paused and take this opportunity to share this very early version of Lizardpaint with you that I coded today.
You can watch a short video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vk7KSAiogbE
Bye!

Hello there! I seize the opportunity that I paused billing for this month to inform/remind you that Demons of Asteborg is soon to be released on SEGA Megadrive/Genesis as well as modern platforms.
I only played the very first demo before Kickstarter campaign was launched in 2019. It looked to me like an action-oriented Castlevania with very good music and GFX. The team worked very hard since then, and even integrated Stef, famous creator of SGDK. This led to the development of features ...

Hello there!
As you know, our pixel artist is currently unavailable, halting our progress on Perlin & Pinpin. I keep on coding stuff, but nothing that's really interesting for the time being.
As I am not happy with our progress, I decided to manually cancel billing each month since January. Could anyone of you confirm that you have not been billed at all?
Thank you!

Hello guys,
I updated the assembled ROM as I noticed math test was not working properly when in insane mode. In a nutshell, I raised the difficulty so high that numbers were higher than 255 (unsigned 8 format), leading the game to display incorrect figures. It now works properly.
Also, I suspended payment since the last 2 months as I felt bad not delivering more. As you know, our pixel artist is very busy these days.
Thanks and talk to you later!

Hello there,
As promised before, I implemented a first version of the menu, meaning that you can now select the minigame you want, as well as the difficulty (suitable for maths only for now).
Rom size did not change as all assets were already included in each and every release. There should be no technical issue, but don't expect something fancy! :-D
Cheers!

We wish you a happy new year! Hope you will have and share good time, and just be happy.
We used Christmas season to work on the next episode of Perlin & Pinpin and came up with a nice setup and good jokes. We lost time before that due to ideas I was not able to clearly express. Now, we *just* need our pixel artist to find time to work on the project. Indeed, he decided to go back to school to learn a new job and hopefully make enough money to live. This should last 18 months or so....

Hi there! You can DL a revised version of the Robintab as promised.
It looks much more lively now. I still need to compose music, add SFX & score.
This should not take long! ;-)

Hello there! Long time without posting... This is unforgivable!
Hope this new demo will appease you! :-D
The Robintab will be the hidden minigame in our next episode.
I thought this was already decent enough to be shared with you and will post a better revision later.
I will keep on working on the actual level this week-end. You will visit the room of someone planning to leave the Robin Tower.
Cheers!

Hello there!
I had an idea for a new minigame earlier this week.
Concept is simple, you get to see a button name displayed at random places on the screen and need to press it to increase your score within 30 seconds. Of course, I checked that you do not press all buttons at once! :-)
My best score so far is 49. But I will add misses in order to prevent mistakes from being made. 3 wrong inputs and you loose!
Assets are placeholders for the time being.
Cheers!

You can DL our latest version here: https://lizardrive.itch.io/perlin-demo1
I am currently reviewing demo #2 which seems to be working just fine now.
You'll find latest revision attached.

As usual, solution was super easy. My past me did a good job... :-p
ROM enclosed starts right from the mini game.
And as you have been very good kids, you'll find a snippet of Gunpog's updated palette and faceset:

Hope you'll like it!

Hello there!
Quick updated ROM enclosed with a few more puns included.
There is not much to be added before I can officially do a public release... BUT!
My main issue right now is to figure out a good way of interacting with the bottle on the desk. Basically, I am checking if Perlin is colliding with & looking at another boxed sprite in order to authorize collision and interaction... But this very specific item is tricky and shows that my logic should be refined. I'll ke...

Hello there! You'll find both demos 1 and 2 updated enclosed.
Demo 2 is not far from being finished as you can see. I still need to assign all remaining interactions to the proper sprites.
Both .bin files actually contain both demos 1 and 2. I'd like to offer you a demo with a menu later which will allow you to chose minigame 1 & 2, as well as a direct access to the Robin Watch.
I feel very sorry for not going faster with this project, but my day job and my numerous appl...

Hi there! Just wanted to share with you the revisted version of classroom mini game made by "Break" (https://twitter.com/breakthetargets).
He did a great job and gave me advice so I can step my game up. Hopefully I will one day be able to reach this level of fine tuning for my tunes.
Check out his soundcloud to see what he can do! He's open for work!

Hello there!
Quick news to tell you that I finally implemented the possibility to skip text. It works nicely and was suggested a loooooong time ago by @castorgroup! Sorry for taking that long!
We had a brainstorming with @iamgunpog and came up with some good jokes that I am implementing right now. I hope I can finish all this in a matter of days (but my day job still has the highest priority).
Rom enclosed includes the 3 different introductions based on the picture you...

Hello there! :-)
You'll find attached to this post our latest updated beta ROM for episode 2.
It starts right in the detective office. If you press A in front of the desk, mini game will start.
I had to fix a few things as I noticed doing a hard reset on actual hardware was not getting rid of some details in console's memory. Now, you can press reset as much as you want, so as to discover one of the three pictures @iamgunpog made for this episode.
I added all spr...

Hello!
Hope everything is fine for you. Quick news!
I updated our engine after brainstorming for a while in order to manage properly interactions with numerous items on a very small surface. What I came with initially was definitely not optimal, as you may end up going through solid things under certain conditions.
This second episode sure helped me fix things! :-)
Updated ROM contains another picture to discover. Public release should contain 3.
We will add a ne...

Hi there!
I just uploaded a revised version of our first episode of Perlin& Pinpin here: https://lizardrive.itch.io/perlin-and-pinpin-the-robin-tower

Hello there!
Quick news: you'll find an early version of demo #2 attached to this post.
It includes detective's office setup, as well as minigame (only one picture for the time being).
We are still working on pixel art and jokes so official release will have to wait a bit.
Being pretty and funny is hard! :-D
I also reworked many things in the background which you won't see nor care about.
Cheers!

Hello there! Hope you are all doing OK.
Very short post this time: I composed the short victory jingle that will be played when you sort all the pictures and discover who the terrible culprit is!
This may be tweaked later, but that's hopefully decent enough already.
Cheers!

Colliding with the environment
As he moves, our hero will eventually collide with something.
There is a function to check this being called when hero is moving (I removed it in the previous example for readability purpose):

This function both tells if the hero can keep on walking in a direction and if the element is colliding with has a s...
