I wanted to show you a small side project I've done! Adoptables are a type of character design. People tend to collect characters and use them for art or storytelling, the way you might use an original character.
I'll be gradually releasing the characters on my social media and taking bids on them, but I thought it would be fair to show you first.
I kept their descriptions pretty simple, since it's fun to decide on characteristics yourself. They all work together at the same cafe....

A lot of people said they couldn't tell if I'd had surgery in real life or if it was just a Nervana thing. I feel like that's a sign I'm running the project successfully lol.

I've been working soo hard since I have surgery on wednesday. Here's Nervana's first photobook - it collects all major posts and plot points so far.

I needed to balance out the pacing towards the end, so added some extra party scene pages. Logo design by Jorden Haley (the guy that does logo + merch design for MSI). I was really honored to get to work with him.
I still have a way to go before I'm happy with the book - I'm going to be re / extra coloring potentially all of it, but it doesn't seem fair to charge patrons for things they've already seen.
I'll just work twice as hard to do new content at the same time.

I don't know if you can tell, but I'm so proud of this stuff. I think the '920' book is kind of about the tension between reality / fantasy, especially in your early twenties. It's really satisfying to make some art that's completely the mid 2000s dream.

Since my laptop failure I re-made my old photoshop brushes:
I'll actually try to release some textures/stickers for everyone to use next much! Don't worry if you don't use photoshop, I'll be putting some png/transparent background sheets together, which should work with pretty much everything.

I'm so happy that I managed everyone's request. The quality varies, which is one of the most fun things about taking requests for me - I always do my best, but I get carried away with some.

One of the hardest parts of making a book is the last push over the finish line. The book is 'technically done', but the effort I put in now is going to affect the finished piece. Here is the first set of chapter break illustrations!
I'll be putting together an updated PDF as the project becomes fully finished. I also went back and hand-lettered every page, since the font wasn't feeling right. thank you for supporting me.

I'm starting to rough out Nervana's comic, along with script work for her. The scripts and notes aren't the kind of thing I can post yet without spoiling the project, so I'm also trying to do nice 'concept pieces' of her.
She also has an interview with Threadless coming up about her t shirt designs, which is exciting! Thank you for supporting Nervana.
I'm also planning on building up some merch [draft for sticker designs at the top of page]. I'll let you know as soon as they...
