Day 22

Engineers, chemists, alchemists, and Dr. Raito watched with her from the safety of the bunker as data filed in as they worked. Her army’s R&D worked with injected amphetamines, working on real-time data to conjure a miracle if brave Saito, her 9th strongest praetorian guard, fought with a bestial cunning against the Calamity. Real-time data from engravings on her guard’s bones connected to machines told them what was happening behind the scenes. Her Minis...

Day 22

My feet dangled off one of the tallest skyscrapers in the city above the smog and planes. I sat on the roof, looking down into blackness under the light of the dungeon’s false sun. The abyss of smog below looked back at me, questioning. Blood dripped from my clothes down through the dark clouds. Bloody footsteps followed in my wake, and my clothes clung to me little more than strips of fabric soaked in blood and gore. My skin had gotten used to the sticky feeling, and I was alr...

Day 22

With every swing of my chainsword and the death of a gator monster, I knew I was waiting for betrayal. A part of me yearned for a reason to be alone, and then I would have no excuse but to indulge in wrath until nothing was left. My blades hungered as they dined on meager meals of cold-blooded monsters in a blur of the dance. As I carved my way through a tribe numbering in the thousands with warriors plenty armed with makeshift armor and high-caliber weapons, I f...

Day 21

I sat on the head of a giant spider while it shivered under me. Steel-plated legs shifted nervously as it shifted, and the corpse of a Kitsunite fell off the platform behind me. In my peripheral, a spy wearing black with two tails with a small camera crew was sneaking away. My blades remained sheathed, and no skill tore them apart just before they crawled on the ground like maggots out of range. Watchers from a nearby castle were sending a report through a clicki...

Silver Thread could be as sticky as spider silk and as strong as mana and psionic ore alloyed steel. It was the main building material she used in her castle because it had the flexibility stone couldn’t provide. When the dungeon rumbled, her Silver Thread flexed but didn’t break. Using it as mortar for stone blocks had been novel once. After crushing her own castle once and witnessing it fall again she had looked into solutions.

Architecture was what humans called designers for bui...

Day 21

“You go too far.” Ms. Birdmask said.

I tapped my foot on the dungeon’s tongue and watched it wiggle in response. Saliva lined the hard pallet, dripping down slowly, keeping the mouth nice and moist. Hot breath blasted my face from a set of lungs that could work a steel foundry. Some of the back teeth were coming in straighter than I imagined. There was a slight crookedness to one of the front teeth that was concerning. Could a dungeon get braces?

My smile remained in place despite Tony’s hostage attempt. The look in his eyes reminded me of Rong Da. Even in this battle, there was a chance I could lose, and it wasn’t that exciting. Veronica was my next selection Gwen didn’t change that. She would kick Gwen until the doe stopped moving. I felt my heart clench, and a pit opened in my gut, but I refused to show weakness.

Gwen appeared when Tony tapped his monster bag, and it was like no time had pa...

Far Ming knew a man with secrets when she met one. Cultures may differ, but confidence bordering foolishness was attractive if it didn’t come from a possible enemy. The man’s unruly hair blew in a wind that focused on Atom alone, a mix of silver, white, black, and red in a mix that resembled ash. The man’s skin was filthy and his shoes were falling apart like she expected from a poor Weston farmer taking a losing gamble in the Rasputin territory. It was his...

They circled the bloated farm covered in green fields with massive battle chickens roaming freely like they owned the place. At first, the multicolored dots seemed to be meandering about the property, possibly after killing off the farmer. A closer inspection revealed a terrifying truth. The battle chickens, numbering well over 1000, were working the farm.

“Rarely have I seen a farmer so successful. You said he was stubborn, and you broke his hands. I’m...

Day 20

My eyes snapped open when the sensation of creeping fear filled my bones. Flashes of myself cowering as a massive storm passed overhead came to mind, but the night was calm. Outside my tent, in my spider silk boxers, I could clearly see the stars and the pink light from our moon. There weren’t any cries for help; no, the fear I felt was from someone cowering.

Telepathy wasn’t empathy; I shouldn’t feel emotions, but Telepathy wasn’t a skill humans ha...

Day 19

The colony of battle chickens led by Fu had expanded on their travel to the dungeon entrance. It was my fault after I killed the floor boss, Rong Da; I took a detour and killed 3 other mid-bosses. My path of destruction sent the masses of battle chickens to the four winds, and the hens naturally went to the largest collection of hens. At first, it was only a little over 200 that arrived at the location. Still, I took too long to return, and other hens and rabbits...

Fu was gone, and that gave me time to rest against a tree and catch my breath. My knees, elbows, and wrists ached from the sheer force placed on them by using so many skills together. Regeneration had healed them, but my brain hadn’t caught up to the fact. While my joints were no longer inflamed, the signals still traveled to my brain, telling me they were.

My Mapping skill wasn’t wrong; the boss arena was the web-covered trees up ahead, and the great s...

After two failed attempts to express their power and deal with the chimera rabbits the battle chicken rooster population had been dealt a fatal blow. Villages had tall walls, chicks following mothers, and young hens Veronica’s age gossiping around wells. The dungeon had chosen a theme by how blacksmiths worked tirelessly in massive smithies to build the perfect weapons. A single enchantment was needed to turn the saw, and the rest was metallurgy and engineering...

Day 19

“Why are we going after the enchantress?”

Her question took me a little off guard. I was sitting on the coffin on the ruined hill, staring at the torn-open castle under the moonlight. Cracks were opening, growing wider with each passing second we watched. Streams of chimera rabbits poured out, some riding foxes while others ran inside to get more of their fellows out of the castle. The other bridge collapsed, killing a few of them unlucky enough to be u...

Between battling against a soft cap wall and exploring my system, I found something interesting. Events existed outside of dungeons and raid boss domains. The system even had merit shops to gain items from scoring points within events. I stared at an event labeled Magic Party College in a review. Pulling up the screen came with flashing firework displays and girls dressed in skimpy outfits. The event ensured a full magical education at the low price of 2000 stars. World of Warmage promised an...

Squiggly lines pervaded my vision and in nonsensical patterns that I couldn’t parse. It was worse than another language because I knew what some of the runes meant. They each had powerful meanings that should impart their meanings onto me. I should be able to sketch them into metal and make them do something. Effects like magnetism and a simple on-off switch should be as easy as breathing for an alchemist in the second tier. I cracked the code and figured out how to bend the ingredients ove...

Every little gain was a step toward my ultimate goal of saving my sister. Some might say I went native, and they aren’t staring down the skills of a raid boss. My witch hostage helped me take a big step in the right direction. A new skill that synergized with my heavenly tribulation and helped me train longer and harder was a dream come true. Two empty professions made my future plans more than a pipe dream. With the right amount of planning, I could get out of my gear much sooner.

Making pills helped me work with my emotions. Feeling pieces fall away under my electrifying touch was so satisfying. Fueling the pills with my anger at my situation gave me pills that acted fast, were hard on the body, and were powerfully effective. My pills were violence, and sometimes violence was needed, especially when clearing out corruption. Those emotions also helped bind together the ingredients. Without a certain amount of anger, it was harder to add ingredients with fire-type mana....

Soul Forges are golems that are used to harvest the souls of monsters in dungeons, particularly those that spawn ghosts. When I read that, I couldn’t really see the thing. I cast lighting on with contempt and felt a little embarrassed. It was like really disliking a smith’s anvil. On the bright side, the nightmare accelerant was entirely functional and only doing what it was built to do. The enchantments might have only made it defend itself.

After my latest search through the datab...

While I hadn’t killed Mos’s uncle, I hadn’t saved him either. The potions sold like clockwork, but no merchant would purchase my overstock. Either it went to the Republic or rotted on the shelves.

It was crazy what a man could get used to or, in my case, a human elder blood hybrid. Every morning, noon, and night, I took a health potion to recover from the wear on my tendons and ligaments. My body grew stronger every day from the cursed gear Red forced me to wear. There was more and better food than I experienced before and I managed to grow a few centimeters because of it. Ubel Online: Dinner P1

Fred had made his decision before he logged in for what could be the last time. Pacifica was his wife and the only woman he loved besides their cute daughter, Atlanta. The matronly succubus moaned as Atlanta sucked on her glossy soft nipples, and Fred felt like he should join in. Pacifica’s other breast looked so lonely without a mouth to suck on it.

He took his place beside the succubus girl he’d grown fond of and grasped Pacifica’s other breast. The inverted nipple tas...

“Hey buddy, it looks like you’re having a hard day. Why don’t you take care of the small fry, and we can have a chat. Does that sound good, friend?” The armored man’s tone sounded so reasonable. Lightning crackled along my hand, and for a moment, I was about to kill the last of my family. “Why hesitate? You’re already level 23; that takes a lot of killing, maybe even a village worth.” The man said.

From the man’s tone, I could hear the grim smile. Looking at this situa...

Vespa flashed a mischievous smile as she tossed back her pollen-filled orange hair and spun around. Her thorax had grown a little bigger after every breeding, leading to a back end that Reed felt proud of. I picked up a wasp nest the size of my head from the base of the apple tree I burned. Once our red apples turned yellow, the tree grew strong despite the lack of sunlight. The smoke had killed the wasps too late to do me any good. Even far from the shack where my mother cared for my sister, I still heard her ragged breaths. The hive in my hand smelled sweet, like apples after the smoke seeped into it. With my knife, I cut away at the blackened wood to see bright yellow wood underneath. I coul...

There was a joy in a routine that I couldn’t help but love. During the day, I trained my body and energy under high gravity while a collection of erobots took care of the farm’s upkeep. Some built my foundry, while others did more menial jobs like repairing fencing, tilling fields, and feeding cows. All the while, their bodies were transformed by the energy moving through them.

I lounged in my energy spring, fully submerged and filling my every cell with liquid energy. This was powe...

Liara Inanna was a creature of rare beauty. Her red skin took on a pink tint in places that didn’t see much sunlight. I reached out and slapped her behind to feel the firm giggle. Miss Inanna pouted, and I pulled...

Not a single vampire soldier attacked me on the way to my homestead. Instead, a few ran drills showing off their weapons, extreme reaction times, and delicate feminine bodies.
