Originally, patrons would be charged up front on subscription then charged the first of every month, Patreon has changed it so now patrons will be charged upon subscribing and then the same day next month will be the next charge. This should prevent being 'double charged' when subscribing close to the next month causing patrons to pay twice (once on subscription then on the first day of the next month)

Patreon will be switching to charging up front on subscription
This is a head up for anyone joining this patreon, when subscribing, patrons will be charged for that month. Charges after that will be on the first of every month.
