As I thought it over, there was really no other way to finish out page 709. My characters really do write themselves sometimes.

Also fun fact; the reveal of Kharma's feelings was meant to happen a bit later in this same arc - still at Claudius' home, but after Theran was recovering from the exorcism. As I wrote this part out, however, I realized Kharma would never forgive himself if he held back on saying it now, though, if Theran didn't pull through.

If the title sounds odd it's bc I'm pondering the idea of a page that would go between this one and 702 but haven't settled on it yet, so have this for the time being.

Claudius is the only Templar the group can safely approach for Theran's problem guest, and he'll gladly do what needs to be done to ensure his son's long-term wellbeing. That doesn't mean he's looking forward to it, however.

Observant readers will recognize the High Inquisitor's surname - and from that probably take an educated guess at why Jax looks nervous there.

Don't blame the poor boy for the association, though - like Claudius said, the current Church is the only one he's ever known.
